Germany vs. Poland 25-27 (8-12)Bielecki had the Poles up by 4 at the half, then they immediately pushed it to an 8-point lead. Those gritty Germans wouldn't quit, though—they almost clawed their way back to a tie, but just couldn't quite pull it off. Kaufmann was the only one really hitting from deep; most of the scoring came from outside, while the pivot and wing players were basically invisible on the scoreboard.
Sweden vs. Canada 25-27 (13-7)The Canadians went through a brutal 10-minute stretch in the first half where they couldn't find the net. But man, those wings, both Žvižej and a solid Škof (who racked up 20 saves), completely turned things around. They just tore them apart on the fast breaks.
Spain vs. Czech Republic 37-25 (17-10)The score pretty much tells the whole story. Romero was lethal, shooting 15/18, and the wings were doing plenty of damage too.
France vs. Canada 29-29 (16-16)I tuned out of this one pretty early. The Gille brothers didn't see much action; it was mostly the other heavy hitters getting huge minutes and soaking up all the goals. The Canadians seemed to be playing with a much deeper rotation.
