So, let me start with this...

Basically, I noticed this little lump today in my bikini area—it feels kind of like a small ball of fatty tissue right under the skin—and it’s actually pretty tender when I touch it.
A friend mentioned it might just be an ingrown hair, but honestly, I’m not totally sure if a hair can actually cause something like that to happen?! 🤷

I’d really appreciate it if anyone here might be able to give me a rough idea of what this could be...

And admins, please don't be mad at me for posting this here—I just figured women would probably understand this specific issue best... since it's in the bikini area, which I guess usually falls under the "women's health" subforum anyway...

Thanks!

It could honestly just be an ingrown hair—I had a friend go through this once where it was so bad she could barely walk.

Or, if we’re looking at other possibilities, maybe you're dealing with a Bartholin gland issue? I actually found this link right here that covers everything about that specific gland.

It really couldn't be a Bartholin gland in the bikini area, as those are actually located between the labia. Bartholin

It might just be an ingrown hair, though if you're feeling uneasy about it, perhaps it would be best to visit a doctor just to be sure.🙂

I'm totally losing my mind here 🙈

Honestly, I’d bet it’s just an ingrown hair. When one of those things starts growing inward, you can usually feel this little pea-sized lump hiding under the skin. Pretty soon, you'll probably be able to actually see the hair trapped in there too. Once you spot it, just grab a sterilized needle, try to gently coax the hair out, and squeeze out whatever gunk has built up. But look, the whole thing isn't going away until you actually get that hair out of there.

I used to deal with nothing but ingrown hairs back when I was getting waxed at the salon. Ever since I switched to using my own dedicated bikini trimmer, the whole problem just totally vanished.

I used to deal with ingrown hairs all the time back when I was getting waxed at the salon. Ever since I switched to this specific bikini grooming tool, though, the whole problem just disappeared.

Hmm, this bump is actually a bit bigger than a pea... I felt some soreness earlier, but I just assumed it was my underwear digging in or something, then I accidentally bumped it last night... I totally panicked.

By the way, what kind of "bikini tool" are we talking about? 😁

I actually went through this once myself. My esthetician suggested I try using some Bivacin cream. Give that a shot, and if you don't see any improvement, just go see a doctor.

Ugh, reading this feels like looking in a mirror. Don't worry too much. It sounds like an ingrown hair. I deal with them constantly. They hurt to touch, especially if you try to squeeze them, and everything can get red or look like a little bruise. In a few days, you'll probably see the hair under there, then you can grab a needle and some tweezers to pull it out. Usually, I end up with a little whitehead thing, or I just squeeze the gunk out. Don't stress, you'll be fine. Being a woman isn't easy.😁🙂

It’s probably just an ingrown hair. Trust me, I get these lumps too—sometimes they’re the size of a freaking slider and they hurt like hell. It isn't going anywhere until it finally works its way out. Honestly, I’ve got actual scars from some of them because it turns out it wasn't even an ingrown hair, just a massive freaking hair stuck under the skin. 😲

Don't sweat it, it's just one of those "joys" of being a woman. 🙄

Oh, trust me, they absolutely can! And it doesn't matter where on your body it happens either. My dad once had one of those nasty bumps on his back, and we actually had to use a needle and tweezers just to pull out a hair that was somehow ten centimeters long😲 you wouldn't believe it!

The same thing happened to me in my bikini area—it was incredibly painful, but I managed to squeeze it out and get the hair free.

Honestly, I've read stories on here about girls having to go to a surgeon just to have them lanced...

Oh, man, you just know some absolute legends are gonna show up the second you decide to perform "surgery" on an ingrown hair.

Luckily for me, I’ve already completely forgotten what that whole mess even looked like 🙂

Uh, I feel like it’s just kind of resolving itself on its own... the lump has actually gotten smaller, and it doesn't even hurt to touch anymore...
That's honestly so good to hear 🙂

Girls, thanks so much for all the replies
