So, I’ve been sleeping in socks for over 20 years now. It just kind of became my default setting at this point. Is there anyone else out there who does this? I’m starting to wonder if it’s just a weird habit or if there’s some actual psychological issue behind it.🙄

What a topic. :-)
I wear tiny socks in the winter. It’s my little dirty secret. :-) My feet just get freezing. I don't do it in the summer, though.🙂

I’m exactly the same way during the winter months, though I actually know a girl who insists on wearing socks even in the middle of July. It strikes me as quite peculiar, honestly—layering up with socks when the heat is already so intense... hmmm... 🤔I find it all rather unappealing 👎
I can't help but feel like it only makes things hotter, and I suppose summer should be the time when everything finally gets a chance to "breathe" after being bundled up in layers all through the winter 🤷
But then again, if I’ve grown accustomed to my own ways... I certainly understand where you're coming from, because old habits are notoriously difficult to break 😉

I tend to struggle whenever winter hits; I get chills and catch colds far too easily. At this point, I can barely find my socks during the day, let alone in the middle of the night.

My feet get absolutely freezing
it’s actually painful
so I usually just throw on some socks so I can finally drift off
but honestly, I always end up kicking them off in my sleep
now, during the summer, I find myself putting them on sometimes too
I have these special sleeping socks—just old, white, stretchy athletic ones I grabbed from my husband's drawer 😍

As long as they are 100% cotton, I suppose it doesn't matter too much.👍

Honestly, I absolutely loathe socks as a fabric—I couldn't stand the thought of even sleeping in them!

To be fair, finding decent socks is one of life's greatest mysteries to me; I can never seem to buy a pair that actually lasts... they either fall apart at the seams, lose their shape immediately, or some other nonsense happens!
Just throwing that out there, since we're all having such a lovely little discussion!

I tend to sleep in socks, but I always wake up without them—clearly, I'm kicking them off in my sleep! Lately, with this heatwave, I’ve stopped wearing them altogether, even though my feet feel freezing. It’s such an uncomfortable sensation. But come winter? There’s nothing better than cozy socks. 😍

Exactly! You can just use them as kitchen towels for cooking😍

I basically always sleep in socks—clean ones, obviously😁
I don't really get why people make such a big deal out of it🙄

Seriously though, what’s wrong with wearing socks to bed?
I'm constantly freezing and my feet are always ice cold, so sometimes I just throw on some socks when I sleep—definitely a must during the winter months.

Having ice-cold feet—to the point where they won't even warm up after sitting under a blanket for a while, or stay cold even in the middle of July—can be a sign of much more serious circulation issues

😂😂😂😂 Hahahaha!
Look, this woman just exposed the whole truth about America.

That’s exactly what they told me when I ended up in the ER with stomach pains. They claimed I had some "internal inflammation," and I was just like, 🙄🙄
Are you kidding me? 🙄 ☕

well, she’s clearly enlightened us all about how life works...

it was the same story for me—ended up in the ER because my stomach was killing me, and they told me I had some kind of internal inflammation, and I was just like 🙄🙄
give me a break... 🙄 ☕

And honestly? If someone spends years sleeping in socks instead of actually seeing a doctor to fix their circulation issues, then yeah, maybe they do need a little reality check...

But what would a doctor even do? Just tell me I have poor circulation?

It feels like circulation issues are constantly brushed off with advice like "just get used to it, everyone deals with this" 😁
or "just wait until you hit puberty, or menopause, or..."
I always joke that the safest bet is just to wait for a massive storm to hit—that’s when all those little aches finally disappear! 😁

A friend of mine was prescribed Elon Musk—she’s been taking it for a few months now and says she’s really happy with the results

Man, I really can't see sleeping in socks being much of a topic for discussion on this board... though honestly, I'm not even sure where else it would go, so if anyone wants to keep the great mystery of footwear alive, just let me know where I should move this thread... until then, I'm gonna lock this since it feels a bit pointless, you know? Just my two cents...
