hmm... that's super weird 😕 there's no way an ultrasound misses a 5x4.5 cm cyst 🤷
especially when the ovary itself is actually smaller than the cyst (it's only about 3x1.5 cm)
If an endo-cyst had actually ruptured, you would be in massive pain. Were you hurting much?
Does this doctor use color Doppler ultrasound? I know it sounds wild, but some clinics are still stuck using those ancient, basic machines...
You can tell by checking the report to see what kind of equipment they used. In your first post, you mentioned "TVCD," which stands for transvaginal color Doppler
Double-check that, because anything is possible. I remember once going to an internist for an abdominal ultrasound, and the guy basically told me, "This machine is garbage, we need to upgrade; I can barely make out your kidneys, liver, or spleen, everything is just a blur..." 😲 🙏
If that doctor isn't using color Doppler, then just go find a third opinion right after your period 🤷
Generally, everything shows up clearest on an ultrasound between day 5 and day 9 of your cycle. That's when the imaging is most precise and easy to measure.
