I stumbled upon this photograph, and frankly, I’m struggling to identify everyone in the frame. I would appreciate it if someone could assist me in identifying the gentleman behind the wheel here🤷. For those who might need a refresher on the rest of the group, we have Rudolf, Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Kling, and Alfred Neubauer; the individual positioned at the bottom left is Luigi Taruffi. If anyone can shed light on the man on the right, please do—he likely has some connection to Mercedes-Benz, given that everyone else in the shot does.

Post this image in the actual thread instead and ask whatever you want there. If you keep posting it here, you're just asking for a ban because this thread is completely useless. Here’s the link, so just move it over if you don't want to get flagged.

You can't, mistybear87 is going to handle it later, and even when he shows up, just reply to that post—he knows the drill, so just sit back and enjoy the ride.😉

Let's leave this one right here

Could it be Peter Collins? 🤷
The photo is definitely from the 1955 VN in the UK😉

I initially assumed this was taken at Indianapolis Motor Speedway based on the background, though I wasn't entirely certain; however, I'd bet anything it was 1955. Everyone else pictured is part of the Mercedes-Benz crew, whereas Collins was driving for Ferrari at the time—though he did win the Indy 500 that year while driving for them alongside Stirling Moss.
I actually found another driver who looks even more like the individual in this shot than Collins does, which is André Simon. The trouble is, there's such a dearth of high-quality photos of him online that I can't say for sure. Still, he was also driving a Ferrari at Indianapolis.

I have actually stumbled upon another driver who bears an even closer resemblance to the individual in this photo than Collins does, which is André Simon, though there is a frustratingly small number of his photos available online, leaving me somewhat uncertain. That said, he too was driving a Ferrari at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He drove for both Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, and if you're suggesting it's 1955, that seems plausible; André made his debut in '51 and had his final race in '57, and during '55, he was indeed driving for both Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz...

So, everything seems to align perfectly; it is likely him...

So, the timeline seems solid; it's likely him...

I'm aware he drove for Mercedes, but for the Grand Prix in the UK, he was in a Maserati, which is where this photo was taken. The real issue is the lack of archival photos online—there is almost nothing available—so I can't definitively confirm if it's actually him without more visual evidence.
