Can someone please explain why the thread was nuked—specifically that poll asking, "Do you believe Tony Blair is leaving voluntarily?" What exactly was controversial about that question? Perhaps it was the results, which showed over 75% of people don't buy the idea of a voluntary exit for even a second... In my view, deleting that poll is nothing short of disgraceful...

I see they’ve also locked the thread titled "Why did Tony Blair leave?"... Good grief. They are actually shutting down a question that any reasonable American is asking today... Every single news outlet is buzzing about this right now. What was the *real* reason behind his departure? Yet, here we are, where the discussion—and the poll—is being suppressed....

This level of censorship is absolutely unprecedented... 🤮

Yeah, you nailed it... everything that got wiped was just pure censorship...🙄🙄

It was cleared out because there’s really no point in having ten different threads all debating why Tony Blair stepped down...

It was deleted because there is simply no need to have ten different threads discussing Tony Blair's departure and his motivations...

🙂

Hey Daniel Ward87, why are you being such a liar?

First, you shut down my poll by claiming it wasn't actually a poll... Then, you told me I was free to start a new one... When I went ahead and did exactly that, you deleted it... And now you’re arguing that there isn't a need for ten topics regarding Tony Blair...

The poll asked, "Do you believe Tony Blair is leaving of his own volition?"... Therefore, it wasn't just a thread about Tony Blair—it was a poll measuring the thoughts and internal reactions of the users regarding his exit... A poll on how Americans perceive this resignation, specifically regarding how much they trust that the Prime Minister acted independently...

It is highly suspicious that you didn't delete the poll immediately, but waited until you saw that over 75% of the users didn't believe his resignation was a voluntary act... This clearly conflicts with the current shaping of public opinion being pushed through the American media...

Furthermore, you closed the poll concerning the reasons behind Tony Blair's departure, where multiple options and answers were provided... You shut down the very question that absolutely everyone was asking yesterday... Generally speaking, any significant question surrounding Tony Blair's resignation—you or your lot either delete it or lock it away...

Look, a Prime Minister doesn't leave office every single day, so why should this be limited to just one topic when there are so many facets to such an exit? Why, specifically, won't you allow polls where users can express their feelings about Tony Blair's departure? Meanwhile, you leave political discussions alone that are nothing more than pure provocations...

Perhaps you simply lack an ear for the real issues... Much like most journalists in America who either don't know how or aren't allowed to ask the right questions... Or perhaps you just have to dance to whatever tune the boss plays? Just give me a reason, because right now you look like a liar, a lowlife, a bully, a censor, or I don't even know what else... In short, nothing good...

So you're calling me a liar now?☕

Look, man, your first thread got locked because there wasn't a poll set up by the time I hopped online... It's true I told you to go ahead and start a thread with a poll, BUT I didn't delete it—another moderator from the Politics section did. Doesn't matter who specifically. The Politics board is run by a moderation team that makes calls together, not just me. Just because I made one suggestion doesn't mean every single mod has to jump on board... That's how the decision to pull the thread was made.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about what percentage of votes went to which candidate or what the margins were. You know what I mean? Who cares? These accusations that mods are censoring specific views have honestly become a joke at this point. Drop those conspiracy theories 🙄; threads about Tony Blair vanish like mushrooms, and now every single sentence someone types becomes a whole thing. Every single statement turns into a debate where people fight with an IQ that barely hits double digits...🙄🙄 and then when it gets deleted, suddenly it's censorship. Give me a break. Read some of the posts in those threads; there’s nothing to censor. You’d be better off sitting back and sighing at how petty everyone is, fighting over nonsense like their lives depend on it. And then everyone starts pointing fingers at the mods... Even that thread about Tony Blair's departure turned into a massive brawl over far-right versus far-left politics...

Bottom line: I didn't delete the threads you're talking about, another moderator did. No, I'm not just doing whatever my boss Anderson tells me to do; I follow the Reddit rules and the Politics handbook after checking in with the rest of the team ☕. I have zero intention of censoring anyone, so your "very insightful" comments don't hold any water.

Is that a little clearer for you? 🤷

Please lock this thread...

My dear friend—your initial thread was locked simply because when I was online, there wasn't a poll set up yet. It is true that I told you to feel free to open a new thread with a poll, BUT I didn't delete it—another moderator from the Politics section did. It doesn't matter who specifically... Because the Politics section is run by a moderation team that makes collective decisions, not just me. Just because I made a certain call at one moment doesn't mean every single moderator has to agree... And that is how the decision to delete was reached.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about what percentage of votes went to a specific party or what the ratio looks like. You think I care? Not even slightly. These insinuations that moderators are censoring certain statements have frankly become laughable. Please, move past these conspiracy theories 🙄; threads regarding Tony Blair vanish like mushrooms, and now every single sentence someone utters becomes a subject of debate. Every single statement turns into a topic where people fight with an IQ that barely reaches double digits...🙄🙄 and then, once it gets deleted, suddenly it's "censorship." Good grief, read some of the posts in those threads; there is nothing left to censor except perhaps sitting down and weeping over how petty people are—arguing over nonsense as if their lives depended on it. And then everyone starts accusing the moderators of everything under the sun... Even the thread about Tony Blair's departure spiraled into far-right versus far-left, extremists versus liberals...

Therefore, the threads you are talking about were NOT deleted by ME, but by another moderator. No, I am not acting according to whatever my boss Anderson tells me; I act according to the rules of Reddit and the Politics handbook, following consultations with the other moderators ☕. I have no intention, nor have I ever had the intention, of censoring anyone, so your "highly significant" observations simply don't hold water.

Is that a bit clearer now? 🤷

Please lock this thread...

Fine... In that case, what I said above doesn't apply to you personally, but rather to the entire Politics moderation team... Generally speaking, that mod team clearly has no ear for actual relevant topics... The only question remains whether this is pure ignorance or intentional...

bluefalcon14 said:Fine... So what I said earlier wasn't about you specifically, it was about the mod team and their policies... In general, though, this mod crew just doesn't get what actually matters here... I guess the question is whether they're just clueless or if they're doing it on purpose...

If you really want to know, I shut the thread down because I'm sick to death of you guys starting a new topic for every little thing.
It’s not enough to have one massive thread covering everything happening with Bill Clinton, so now every single person feels the need to start their own separate thread just so their specific post can be "the main one."
In just one morning, the big Bill Clinton thread blew up with—get this—exactly 1,300 posts in a matter of hours! And what's the plan here? Start a new thread for every single news article? Just so the whole world revolves around Bill Clinton? I don't get it—if the main topic isn't bending to your will, you just decide to choke out the entire forum with redundant threads...? Can you guys not even hold a conversation unless you're the ones who kicked it off...? Is the crowd over at Mad House just "different" than the people on the main forum, so you all need your own special duplicate threads...?

Explain yourself clearly and make sense, then maybe we'll see...
