Has anyone else had bad experiences with energy drinks?
Here’s the situation: last Thursday evening, I had one 0.25L can of BURN. By noon the next day, I started feeling some chest pains. Then, about 24 hours after the drink, my heart suddenly started racing like crazy—my blood pressure spiked, I couldn't catch my breath, my head was spinning, and I was shaking and sweating uncontrollably. I couldn't even speak to explain what was happening to me. It lasted about five minutes before settling down, only to repeat itself four more times over the next hour. I honestly thought I was having a heart attack, so naturally, I ended up in the 🙄 emergency room. The doctor told me it was just a panic attack. Of course, I was too shaken up to process that; I actually thought the doctor was being an idiot—I mean, how could it be panic? I wasn't under any stress... it wasn't until today that I realized I'd downed that stupid BURN the day before (and looking back, I had a similar, though much milder and faster reaction to a guarana pill two years ago).
So, I wanted to ask you all: is it actually possible for that episode to be linked to an energy drink I consumed 24 hours prior??

I mean, I'm probably overthinking this, but people who engage in high-risk behaviors—you know, the types constantly overdoing it with booze, drugs, or even those excessive energy drinks you see flying around at raves—they often deal with massive panic attacks once the psychostimulants finally wear off.

There's a really tight link between a full-blown panic attack and withdrawal syndrome.

I once—and I mean just one single time—actually tried that Red Bull stuff without any booze mixed in, purely out of curiosity. I ended up throwing it right back up and I am officially done with it forever. Gross.

That’s honestly the one thing I’ve managed to avoid my whole life, yikes... though, if I’m being honest, I’ve definitely sampled plenty of other absolute garbage over the years...

It’s totally doable. It’s like that one guy who downed way too many Budweisers and passed out face-down on a brewery floor, only to wake up 24 hours later with a massive, throbbing pain in his backside.
