My apologies if this topic has already been covered here.
So, here is what my color Doppler scan of the carotid arteries showed:
There is an asymmetry during the vertebral artery flow analysis—higher values on the left side along with slightly milder acceleration at the end of both vertebral arteries and the beginning of the basilar artery—indicatingvertebrobasilar insufficiency.
The intracranial segments of the carotid arteries were analyzed via MIT, and those results are still within the normal range.
Of course, I don't understand a single word of this... what exactly is vertebrobasilar insufficiency?🤷
The reason I had this scan done was due to dizziness and intense headaches following a neck whiplash injury.
Can this be managed with just physical therapy? And more importantly, is it dangerous...?😕
