If I had to pick one song to be playing when I finally kick the bucket...
There's really only one choice here.

If you’re the type of person who wants to pass away in peaceful silence, then honestly, you probably shouldn't be bothering to comment on this thread at all.🙂
Jonsi, that's an excellent choice you made there.
Personally, if I were facing my final moments, I think I'd want Mad World Gary Jules playing in the background. That closing scene from Donnie Darko is just so much more impactful specifically because of that track. It’s relaxing. Sort of like... It's The end of The World and i Feel fin.

Why bother needing a song to relax while you're dying? Once you're dead, you'll be plenty relaxed, guaranteed.

Raymond Newman said:If you actually want music to kill you, just blast some old-school country artists like Garth Brooks...

So, what are we talking about here—which song would you choose to die to, or which song would you want playing in the background?
Personally, I’d listen to Oliver Shanti if I wanted to pass away peacefully, completely undisturbed.🙂

ironwalker55 said:I was just wondering what kind of music you'd want playing while you die. I mean a natural death—nothing involving tumors or illnesses.

What exactly do you mean by a "natural death"? Are we talking about reaching age 90 or maybe 100, where the body simply starts shutting down—vital organs failing due to sheer wear and tear, if we're being medically precise? I guess...? Usually, when we hear someone passed away, the first thing we ask is why and how.

But, fine, if you really want an answer, here is one rather fitting transition from one state to the next:

Man, don't start getting all philosophical on me now, for crying out loud. 🙂

Personally, if I had to go, I’d want to drift off to the sound of some classic American bluegrass harmonies. [IMAGE REMOVED]

I honestly don't get why some of you find this thread inappropriate. 🤷 If you're having an existential crisis because you can't wrap your head around the concept of your own disappearance, that is strictly and entirely your own damn problem. Personally, I think this is a pretty solid topic to chew on. At first glance, my mind goes straight to Lou Reed - Perfect Day. Just strip away all the irony. 😍

Personally, listening to those coastal vocal groups would probably be the death of me (unless I'm accompanied by James Blunt, I suppose). [IMAGE DELETED]

It’s not even about being philosophical 😉, I’m just genuinely curious (truly, I'm dying to know 😉), but I wanted you to know that I actually dig your choice—not because of where I grew up, but because that music is just... perfect 😁

Just pulling your leg a little there. 😁

Yeah, those vocal harmonies (whether they have backing tracks or are strictly a-cappella) are truly something else. 🙂

The instrumental tracks on these are just awful; it feels like there's this weird disconnect where five people are singing and five others are playing, but they aren't even in the same room together 🤮

It really should have just been a cappella

It’s gotta be Funeral of Hearts by HIM—or maybe just something else from them...
