New bump on my face—what could it be?

My mother has a very rigid work schedule—which makes it nearly impossible for her to squeeze in a trip to the dermatologist—and while I can’t help but feel a bit suspicious about the whole situation, I honestly have no idea what might be going on with her skin. I’ve never really been much of a skincare enthusiast myself, so if anyone could take a look at my description and offer some insight into what this might be, I would be incredibly grateful (by the way, I should be able to post a link to a photo next week):

The growth is located on her facial skin, specifically right along the side near the mouth and nose—you know, tucked into the nasolabial fold. It first appeared either last year or the year before. It is raised, mostly flesh-colored, measuring roughly 3 or 4 mm in diameter. On the bottom edge, there is a black spot, and lately, the flesh-colored portion has started changing—specifically, it has become partially somewhat whitish, almost as if there is something trapped inside it. I also noticed a tiny thread-like vein running through the center of the growth, though her face is already quite full of those little capillaries, so perhaps it was always there? Still, it’s worth noting...

Look, I suspect it is unlikely that anyone here is qualified enough to give you a definitive answer based solely on a written description...
It could be anything—from a simple cyst or a boil to melanoma. I suppose the best course of action would be for her to take a day off work or perhaps use a sick day just to get it professionally examined.
