I've been scouring the internet looking for a place to train kickboxing, Muay Thai, or Kung Fu, but it honestly feels like I'm searching for the Holy Grail...
of everything I've ever practiced, kickboxing was always my favorite—plus, I saw the best results there. That was back when I lived in Cincinnati, but now that I'm settled in Washington, D.C., I'm on the hunt for a gym with a great atmosphere for women where the workouts actually push you. I'm not interested in just jumping around to music or doing endless stretching sessions. If anyone knows a good spot where I should sign up, please let me know! Thanks!🙏

If you're looking for some serious intensity, they have recreational Muay Thai over at Forma www.http://www.fitness-forma.com/.hr. Since you aren't exactly a total novice—given your background in kettlebell training—you might actually find the vibe over at the Plains a bit more your speed www.trenk.hr.

Look, I’ll give you my two cents—if you’re just looking for some casual cardio and want to stay fit, stick with the local gym! But if you actually want to get serious about competitive boxing and prefer a more individualized training style, then come join us at the club!
It’s an MMA gym, which means you’ll learn the technical side of four or five different martial arts, though you can totally pick one—like Muay Thai—as your main focus and just dabble in the others on the side.
The vibe at the regular gym is always with music blasting in the background 😁

Honestly, ever since I started sparring with the guys, I've noticed something—there are basically zero women who want to do anything more than just burn some calories in class. They hit way too soft and they can't take a hit to save their lives, period.
So, my advice? Either bring a friend along so you can train together, or tell the coach to pair you up with someone who isn't a total beginner right away. Make it clear from day one that you want a gritty, high-intensity workout—not just some slow, light tapping around where nobody actually pushes themselves! 😉

Check out the Tae Bo classes over at The Blue Note near Santa Monica....

It’s this cool mix of taekwondo, boxing, and aerobics

Honestly, it's an awesome way to stay active—really high energy and the vibe there is just great.

Just search for Tae Bo at The Blue Note to find more info.
