On Saturday, 2/21, there's a show at the Student Union Hall featuring Cut Self Not from Belgrade and Cripple and Casino from the US.
This will be Cut Self Not's first time playing in town, so come see if this trio lives up to the hype. I'm just copying the announcement from the SU website since the guys wrote it themselves... they probably know best haha.
Cut Self Not is a trio formed in Belgrade in September 2006, shortly after their indie punk band 36 Daggers broke up. Singer Andrew Spičanović is now on guitar, joined by bassist Miljan Đokić and drummer Uroš Milkić (also known as the singer and guitarist for Euforie). They played their first show in February 2007. Their sound is often melodic, but more frequently chaotic, packed with the complex rhythms of math rock, post-punk, and noise. It sits right at the intersection of bands like Shellac, Faraquet, Les Savy Fav, Hella, Slint, and The Wipers. So far, the band has released one EP through the local independent label SuperSizeSheRecords, and they start recording their first full-length album in March, which should be out by late summer.
