Hey there!

Does anyone actually know the name of that specific fabric used for gaming mats—you know, the stuff they use for poker tables, board game setups, and all that? (Usually that classic dark green or deep blue color?)
I’ve been scouring the internet for ages but I'm coming up totally empty-handed. No luck at all.
Thanks!

It’s usually just felt. You can find it at some fabric stores, but the cheapest way is through Joann Fabrics (depending on what size you need)—they sell pre-cut sheets (like A4 size for about $3.50 and $1.25) as well as by the yard. They have plenty of colors. 😉
I needed it for work, so I just bought it by the yard there.
If you're in Chicago, maybe stop by or give them a call.

Good luck.🙂

hmmm... isn't that just plain old nonsense?

Fair point; what you've got there is tougher than felt, and felt is thinner.

bluetinker83, here's the link for you:

thanks cinderella, you're a lifesaver—I'm not actually from Chicago or anything, but now I know exactly what to look for. Honestly, whatever I can dig up, whether it's felt or some heavy-duty fabric, it’ll work just fine since I don't need anything fancy—just trying to cover up a card table.

best, 🙂
