I'll apologize upfront for the title, I honestly have no clue how to word this specifically... not even sure how to explain what's going on here
I’m dealing with some issues on my outer vulva, right by the perineum... it feels like there's this extra patch of skin that swells up during sex, turning into a sort of blister or bubble that burns like crazy and is just super uncomfortable...
It’s happened a few times over the last year, but lately it’s been happening more often. I have a gyno appointment next week, but I was wondering if anyone knows what this might be? Has anyone dealt with something similar? I've never heard of this before and I'm totally lost...😕
Otherwise, everything is fine—sex itself is great—but that specific spot of skin gets irritated from the friction, swells up, and burns. It sucks.
It’s frustrating because I have zero idea what this is or how to fix it...😢

I'm not sure... I found this on a forum, maybe ask a doctor, www.webmd.com:

I'm 29, in a long-term relationship, and I've been dealing with this for a year now. Basically, during intercourse—specifically at the start of penetration—there's tearing right at the opening. It hurts so much that I just have to stop. I've seen two gynecologists and they both give me the same answer: it'll pass. But it isn't passing. My doctor suggested using Linel Fett cream, which I have tried, but it doesn't help. I use lubricant every single time because I thought maybe it was dryness, but nothing works. Every single time there's a tear, leaving a small wound that usually leads to an infection. I've been using Geonistin suppositories and now I've started Medazol ones too... I'm feeling pretty hopeless because this is really affecting my sex life and my relationship in general. Please, if anyone has advice... Thanks in advance.

I understand, but here is what I think—it involves a persistent thin layer of skin that keeps tearing. Unfortunately, I see this relatively often in young women, so you aren't the first. It’s hard to fix simply, but there are a few things to consider:
- taking monophasic oral contraceptives can increase the tendency to tear due to the low hormone dose and the resulting thinning of the skin
- it will most likely resolve after your first childbirth (I know that's not much comfort, but it's a fact),
- the lubricant you're using should help quite a bit
- if the issue is very pronounced, there is a possibility it could be treated surgically (or with a laser); however, I should mention that it could potentially recur in the same spot. I would need to examine you first to provide a more specific prognosis.

I know exactly what you mean—that happens to me every once in a while too. It’s almost like the skin just cracks, and then there's this intense stinging sensation that can drive you absolutely crazy, especially if you're trying to focus on typing or getting things done. Usually, it settles down after a day or so. I've realized it tends to flare up after more intense intimacy or simply if I'm not naturally lubricated enough.

Thanks for the example, Angela Morales. I tried digging around online but came up empty...
maybe that’s what it is, but to me, it feels less like it's about to pop and more like it's just swelling up. It turns into this massive blister, like a huge bubble that doesn't actually burst until hours later... super weird.
I have no clue what this is, and honestly, it's driving me crazy.
The only thing I can think of is that it started around the same time I started shaving with a razor—maybe I nicked myself or something? Just a tiny cut, maybe...
who knows.
I'm really hoping my doctor figures out what's going on and fixes it.
Thanks, ladies.
If anyone else has dealt with this or has any advice, please let me know...

For me, the skin always ends up cracking in that spot, which leads to some minor bleeding, but I don't really let it worry me too much.🤷

honestly, I’m not even sweating it. don't think it's a big deal
but the real issue is that I can't seem to maintain a decent relationship—lately, I haven't had one at all
yeah, that's 😠 pretty much
it.
