I’ve been dealing with this persistent issue of excess fat in my chest area for quite some time now.
Now, I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm overweight—I currently weigh about 150 lbs and stand at 5'9"—but I certainly had significant issues with chest fat back when I was hovering around the 136 lb mark. That was largely because I spent a long period weighing only 110 lbs, and then somehow managed to pack on 40 lbs in a single year... but I digress.

Do you think running, combined with the routine found here, will be enough to help define my chest muscles?

My goal isn't necessarily to bulk up my chest, but rather to tone it and smooth everything out. Are there any other specific exercises you would recommend? Of course, I am fully aware that I need to tighten up my diet as well; despite being slightly underweight by some metrics, my blood lipid levels are a bit concerning.

Trust me, I know from experience... it has nothing to do with your workout routine. There isn’t some magic exercise that’s going to fix this. It’s just genetic junk settling right on your chest, and the only real way out is to drop your body fat percentage.

What if I just skip the struggle and head straight for liposuction 🙂?

I need to have this sorted by next summer at the latest, though honestly, I’m feeling pretty lost about it. I’m thin, yet I can't seem to lose those specific areas, and the whole process just drags on forever... I mean, fine, if it works, but now you're telling me it doesn't 🤷

You said you put on 18 lbs in a year... that's a massive jump, and most of that is probably just fat and water weight. Maybe it's time to cut? Drop a few pounds first, then look at bulking again.

Running isn't going to melt away that body fat. If you actually want to burn through the fat, you need to be lifting heavy weights. Most local gyms have a massive selection of chest machines, so your best bet is to just go ahead and sign up here

Bokte, honestly, who on earth taught you that? I mean, how many people do you actually know who run regularly but still struggle with stubborn fat? On the flip side, you can find plenty of those soft, doughy bodybuilders everywhere you look.

😂😂😂
And let me tell you, how many people out there have incredible physiques without ever stepping foot in a gym?
Look, I'm not even going to get into a whole debate here—just go do some actual research. 🙂

Look, I’m not looking for an argument here, but maybe do some actual research before speaking up.🙂

Me, do some research? I honestly can't decide whether to laugh or just facepalm at a claim that ridiculous; I think everyone else on this board would agree with me, though I suppose you'll be the sole exception to that rule.

Oh, so *I'm* the one who needs to "get informed"?😲😲😲
You have no idea how much of a load you're talking here.🙂
Look, some of us were actually born knowing what we're talking about. Sorry if I happen to know a little more than you do.☕

What kind of mistake did I make?🙂
☕You were clearly born knowing everything. My bad for actually knowing a thing or two better than you.

You're tripping... big time.

Now, look—the professor is actually spot on here. If you’re looking to shed some fat, running is the way to go rather than just grinding away with heavy weights. Lifting is great and all, but those weights are really just signaling the body to build muscle mass—which, as we all know, actually happens while we're resting, not during the set itself!

Anyway, I have to ask: who on earth started this rumor that the professor doesn't know what he's talking about? We need to clear the air immediately. Honestly, spreading misinformation like that is practically a civic crime in the Republic of Turkey—it’s almost as scandalous as what the Mayor of Tvukopolis is doing lately!

Look, I’m going to stick to my guns here and double down on what I already said. And just to be clear, goldenfox24, I never claimed you could burn off fat by using weights to tone up. People are honestly just kidding themselves when they go out running, thinking that if their chest muscles tighten up, the fat is somehow magically melting away right along with it.

goldenfox24 said:Seriously, who decided that if a professor misses the mark, we should immediately start a witch hunt? That’s basically the biggest crime in the Republic of Turkey [[insult the Mayor of Tvukopolis]]]

Ha! If Tvukopolis is governed by the mayor of the Republic of Turkey, then I guess I'm the President of the United States.😁

jadetiger962 is actually the mayor of Tvukopolis [I mean, who has ever seen a republic without a capital city?]—plus he serves as both the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey

Alright, let's wrap this up—fat is fat, plain and simple. Whether it’s coming off your ribs or your gut, it's all the same deal, and if anyone actually wants to get into the weeds on this, they can go find the dedicated megathread for it. I'm locking this now.
