Wait, Samuel Cruz61, are you just another clone of stormybadger8? 😕🤷

Was Nick Heidfeld just sitting there right behind Sebastian Vettel just to make sure I lose? 😬

Man, I wouldn't bet against it if I were you... I'm pretty sure that's how this ends.
The only way you're saving your money is if both teams just give up entirely. 😁

haha, we'll see how it plays out, but honestly, a three-day ban feels like a pretty harsh sentence if you ask me 😬
#229 ·
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Haha, we'll see about that, but honestly? A three-day ban is still a pretty brutal penalty. 😬
Look, there’s gotta be some kind of stake in this bet, otherwise what's even the point? It's not fun if nothing's on the line. If someone from the first pair drops out, I'm totally down to bump up the stakes for the second pair. We can settle it in a week, man.

Edward Howard2 said:Look, there’s got to be some actual reason to place a bet, otherwise the whole thing just feels hollow and uninteresting. If you really want to spice things up, we could always bump up the stakes for the second pair—assuming someone from the first group drops out—maybe set the wager at a week's ban.
Nah, the real reason is simply that I'm working, and honestly, if I didn't have this forum to sink into, I'd be bored out of my mind.

Raymond Ortiz89, I really wouldn't recommend betting against Sebastian Vettel if I were you.😉 Honestly, since Sebastian Vettel ends up winning the race, taking a bet against him against anyone else is probably just a guaranteed way to lose money.☕
Here is how the final standings actually shook out:
Sebastian Vettel
Robert Kubica
Fernando Alonso
Nico Rosberg
Takuma Sato
Nick Heidfeld
Mark Webber
Timo Glock
So, looking at those pairings Edward Howard2 put together, there isn't really any way he could have come out on top. Maybe he could have managed a draw if some of his favorites had dropped out, but in every single pair he picked, he essentially predicted the exact outcome.😉

Of course he isn't.🤣😂
I suppose anyone would probably be rooting for Sebastian Vettel☕ rather than Takuma Sato, though I have to admit that I've always found Takuma Sato🙏 to be quite a likable driver myself. 😬

Nick Heidfeld gets a three-place grid penalty
27 September 2008
The McLaren driver has been penalized three grid positions for impeding another driver during qualifying ahead of tomorrow's Miami Grand Prix.
Heidfeld originally locked in sixth, sitting just two spots behind teammate Robert Kubica. Thanks to this penalty, he’ll be dropping back behind Sebastian Vettel, Timo Glock, and Nico Rosberg, who all bump up to sixth, seventh, and eighth.
A racing incident occurred during the first session when Rubens Barrichello was forced to abort his flying lap after catching Heidfeld in the final corner. The BMW driver had slowed down while heading toward the pit lane.
To add more drama, Barrichello got slapped with a 10,000 Euro fine because he cut across the pit lane immediately after the incident once he realized his lap was dead. Apparently, the stewards weren't fans of him crossing the pit entry line.
🙄
Okay, I get why Heidfeld got hit, but what's with this random three-spot penalty? It's total nonsense. Why isn't it a standard five or ten-place drop?🤷 What's the logic here—are they just picking numbers out of a hat like 2, 4, 7, 9, or 12 depending on their mood?😕 And honestly, I don't get why Barrichello is being fined at all. The guy was the victim in that situation. 😵 Instead of getting sympathy, he gets punished. What was he supposed to do, ram into Heidfeld just to make the stewards happy?🙄

I get why they handed out the penalty, but honestly, who decided three grid spots was the move here? It feels like such nonsense—why can't they just stick to a standard five or ten-place penalty and be done with it?🤷 I guess we’re back to them playing judge and jury again, deciding who gets what penalty now. Finished second, fourth, seventh, ninth, and twelfth. Just another day at the office, I guess. Whatever works for them, I guess.😕 And besides that, I honestly don't get why they're handing out a penalty to Rubens Barrichello; if anything, he's the one who got screwed over in that whole mess. 😵 And then they go and hand him a penalty on top of everything else. Honestly, what was he even supposed to do, just ram into Nick Heidfeld just to make sure the stewards felt satisfied with their day?🙄
They either use those little slips of paper with numbers scribbled on them and pull them out of a drum, or they just use one of those standard lottery machines you see on TV. 😬

I mean, I get why a driver has been penalized three grid positions for impeding another driver, but what kind of nonsense is a three-place penalty? Like, why can't they just make it a standard 5 or 10 spots on the grid? 🤷 Are they just gonna start making up penalties whenever they feel like it—like 2, 4, 7, 9, 12 spots—just because it suits them or whatever? 😕 And honestly, I definitely don't get why Rubens Barrichello is getting penalized either. He was the victim in that whole mess. 😵 So now he gets punished too? What was he supposed to do, ram into him or something just to make the stewards happy? 🙄
They’re starting to pull some seriously stupid stuff now...

I’m anticipating seeing one or two Renaults making moves in the second round.
If luck happens to be on our side, 😁

If we get lucky, 😁
It's certainly a possibility. Provided everyone else decides to drive straight into the wall at Turn 1, we might see a chaotic mess reminiscent of what went down back at Indianapolis in '98.😁

I’m currently reading a statement from Alonso where he basically claims the race is already over for him. I get it—he’s clearly frustrated after those incredibly strong practice sessions and showing such genuine pace—but honestly, give me a break. Could he just stop being such a crybaby for once? Just shut up and drive.
🙄
#239 ·
Of course Alonso is gonna claim the race is gone the second he sees Coulthard right in front of him acting like a total roadblock 😁

Total nonsense.🙄
He's gonna be absolutely flying. The others won't even be able to touch him because they'll be stuck, and he'll probably only need one pit stop. He could make a massive jump in the standings. Plus, there's a huge chance we see a safety car, and since Alonso has been playing chess with his strategy lately, that could shake things up even more. It'll be super easy for him to snag some points even if everything goes sideways.
