Kill Bill (2008)

Honestly, I feel like just one look at the poster is enough to convince anyone to give this a watch, right?

The premise is pretty straightforward: Buffy is this badass cowgirl wielding a katana, tearing through zombies across the country alongside her sidekick... then you've got this equally lethal biker named Reiko who rolls in with a sawed-off shotgun and some serious gun-fu skills. They’re all chasing the same target—some mad scientist responsible for unleashing this whole zombie outbreak...

It’s genius. Just brilliant. Total Good Will Hunting vibes. Honestly, they should be teaching this stuff at film schools—how to pull off such damn cool special effects on a shoestring budget using nothing but clever, simple tricks...

"John Rambo", "The Onion Movie", "The Machine Girl", and now "Kill Bill" are sitting pretty as my first four picks for the "top 5 film 2008"... I'm thinking "Punisher: War Zone" will take that fifth spot...

Seriously though, don't sleep on this masterpiece...

I started watching this. Fifteen minutes in, I turned it off. It’s just bad.

It's obvious someone was just riding the coattails of The Machine Girl's success and tried to cash in on the same formula.

Would it still be worth watching if they cut out the logic center?

As I mentioned previously, I sat through about 15 minutes of this thing, and it was an absolute slog. I found myself scrubbing through the timeline just to see if there was actually any substance I might have missed, but there wasn't. It turns out I didn't miss anything—I saw maybe three different locations throughout the entire runtime, and every single one of them looked like some derelict warehouse in Detroit.

That being said, that is strictly my take on it. It’s entirely possible someone else might actually enjoy this. If you decide to give it a watch, be sure to post your thoughts here 🙂

Yeah, I actually loved it! Loved it like hell, just like I did with The Machine Girl. I mean, it’s a movie where a half-naked cowgirl named Buffy (couldn't they have picked a cooler name?) just wanders around slaughtering zombies. What else do you even need from a flick like that?

And then there's that final showdown between Aya and Buffy, when they start teleporting around and tapping into Krypton to toss those ki-blasts everywhere... honestly, it felt just like watching Dragon Ball Z...

If you were a fan of Wonder Woman, you’re going to love this.
If you live for movies where massive hordes of zombies get taken down in the most stylish ways possible, this is for you.
If you enjoy seeing badass women absolutely crush it in high-octane action sequences, look no further.
And if you don't mind skipping the complex plots or deep philosophical messages in favor of pure entertainment, you're in for a treat.

Basically, if any of those points sound like your kind of thing, you are going to absolutely adore this movie. I know I did!
