I'm planning on hitting the inline skates every day. How many hours should I aim for if I want to actually see results? I want to know if skating really helps with getting in shape or losing weight. Does it actually tone your glutes and legs?

Do you think 😁
Overall, rolling helps with everything you’re asking about. It really just comes down to your expectations, how much effort you put in, how hard you are on yourself, and how long you plan to stick with it. 😉

If you're looking to make a huge impression in just a month, honestly, it might be tough to see major changes that quickly.

The bottom line: just get started and you'll feel amazing!😉

I suppose you could say that weightlifting is really the gold standard for building strength and muscle, provided that one possesses both the discipline and the right technical knowledge 😁

Here’s my take on rollerblading: first off, don't bother going with a group of girlfriends if you actually want to work out—it just turns into a social hour. Second, if you aren't hitting at least three or four laps a day—assuming we're talking about a circuit like Central Park—and keeping up a decent clip, you're basically just cruising. You won't see any real changes in your physique unless you're pushing the pace.
Otherwise, it’s perfectly fine recreation. Personally, I moved on to running because I realized I was spending way too much time on blades just to see minimal results; with running, you get much faster access to actual progress.

Look, if you aren't breaking a sweat, you aren't training—you're just playing around.

Skating is awesome. Plus, if you’re carrying a little extra weight, it won't absolutely wreck your ankles and knees the way running does. But, just like others have pointed out, you really need to aim for at least 3-4 times a week for a minimum of three laps. Try to find some time during the weekdays when the paths aren't packed; it makes it way easier to actually keep your pace instead of constantly slamming on the brakes because you're terrified of wiping out two toddlers sprinting blindly into your path or an elderly lady wandering aimlessly across the trail. All in all, just get out there and have fun!

I’ve actually jumped on the rollerblading bandwagon too...
I started up last month, then bailed, and now I'm back at it again.
I usually get out for about an hour at a time.
By the time I get home, I’m bright red, but honestly, I don't regret it one bit.
Beyond that, skating really helps blow off steam and decompress—definitely beats just sitting on the couch staring at the TV. It feels good knowing I'm actually doing something productive for my physical health.

I can't say for sure how much it reshapes your physique, but after a session, I can feel every single muscle working...
especially in my legs and glutes.

If you actually focus on your movements while you're gliding, you'll realize you're engaging your entire body... from your shoulders down to your heels. That’s not really the case with most other workouts.

You just have to try it for yourself...

And as for the idea of going skating with coworkers... forget about it.
It turns into a total waste of time. You spend the whole time waiting for them, or they're waiting for you, or someone has to stop because "oh, I can't do this," or "let's just go grab a drink instead."🙄
In that case, you might as well stay home.

Good luck.

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well.

I’m looking to put together a small crew or even just find one dedicated person who wants to get serious about skating. I'm talking about hitting the pavement every single day, putting in several hours of practice after 4 PM to really level up and train like a pro.
If anyone's interested in grinding together, shoot me an email at lunatic_wit2@yahoo.com
