I found out today that I'm pregnant, and it seems like an abortion is my only option right now.
Since I've never navigated a situation quite like this before, I was wondering if anyone might have some information regarding whether it's generally better to go through a hospital or see a private specialist. I'm also curious about what the typical procedure looks like and how much I should expect to pay, as well as any recommendations for reputable private clinics that specialize in ensuring there are no complications for my future pregnancies.
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

To be honest, I haven't been through this myself, but if I were in your shoes, I’d be looking at private clinics too.
I’d be terrified of using a state hospital. From everything I hear, they treat you like you're just a piece of meat when you're giving birth, let alone when you're dealing with a miscarriage.

Check with a counterpart; you can probably find a number online, or if not, just call an information line.
They have top-tier equipment and handle everything from deliveries to C-sections—which are major surgeries—so I assume they handle miscarriages as well.

Word is it’s pretty pricey, so expect to pay a few thousand dollars.
Your best bet is to call and ask directly.

That’s exactly what I would do.

There was some discussion regarding abortion, so if you haven't seen it yet, maybe one of those details will help...

I don't think I need to lecture you or tell you "don't, don't." You're the one who knows best whether this is right for you. Just take some time to really weigh if it's truly the only way—I certainly hope it isn't—so you aren't left with regrets later...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that whatever you decide, you won't have any regrets...

Best, 👍

Kudos to you!!!!!

I'm not totally sure on this one, but I'm pretty certain it's illegal to perform abortions outside of a hospital setting
