Alex, what kind of Monster Energy are you drinking?

I'm talking about this one http://www.guaranaweb.com/Actually it's super similar to Red Bull, honestly I think it's even better. I actually grab it from just across the border for $1.75 a buck..

fewer raves and things will be fine😁

why doesn't coffee even work for you? maybe try green tea, apparently it’s stronger than coffee. I wouldn't mess around with those energy drinks, who knows what they actually have in them

So, coffee just isn't doing it for you? Seriously? You should try switching to green tea—I've heard it actually hits way harder than coffee! Honestly, I wouldn't mess around with those energy drinks either; who even knows what kind of junk is actually in them?

I haven't hit up a rave in like two years, and honestly? I’m totally fine with that. Someone actually sent me the same advice about switching to green tea, so I’m definitely going to give that a shot. Coffee just doesn't do anything for me—I've never really been much of a coffee drinker anyway. I only grab a cup if I'm out with friends, but it's never been my thing. It sounds absolutely wild to me that coffee would actually make me sleepy, though!😢

I used to be a regular at raves, so when I saw the username, I just had to reach out.😁

Maybe try green tea. Honestly, coffee doesn't even help me much anymore because I've built up such a tolerance, but I guess you can't really start a workday without that first cup.😬

If I recall, the whole controversy surrounding Red Bull was about the unregulated caffeine levels and some questionable ingredients—basically, there were claims they weren't being transparent on the label about the actual caffeine content. At least, that was the main issue back when Red Bull first hit the US market, though things have since stabilized. It's also possible energy drinks are addictive in the same way coffee is, given how much caffeine they pack in, which makes them tough on the heart. You're probably feeling those palpitations, so I suppose it would be best to check in with a doctor about it; they’re the ones who can actually give you a real answer.

I think the whole drama with Red Bull back in the day was mostly about the caffeine levels being way too high and some shady labeling—people were convinced they weren't listing all the ingredients or the actual caffeine content correctly. That was the big issue when Red Bull first hit the US market, but things have mostly settled down since then. It's also super possible that energy drinks are addictive just like coffee because of how much caffeine they pack in, which is why they can be rough on your heart. If you're feeling your heart racing, you should probably check in with a doctor; they're the pros and can actually tell you what's going on.

I'm actually checking the label right now while sipping my Monster😁(second one today!) and it says there's 250mg/L of caffeine.

And you're drinking that at midnight. When exactly do you plan on sleeping? 😲

I couldn't find anything at my local CVS except for that weirdly flavored juice 🤷

So I just grabbed a Coke instead 😬

Now, look, the lethal dose of caffeine usually sits somewhere between 7.5 and 10 grams depending on your specific physiology, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves—that doesn't mean knocking back a few hundred milligrams every single day is somehow "safe." What you mentioned regarding coffee is spot on, too! Coffee gives you that initial jolt, sure, but it's fleeting; if you just sit there idling after your cup, you’re going to feel even more crashed fifteen or twenty minutes later. It's like hitting a wall mid-stride.
I mean, honestly, it isn't exactly peak wellness to be running on such little sleep while simultaneously hammering your system with that much stimulant. Beyond the obvious fact that it messes with your blood pressure and puts an incredible amount of stress on your organs—heaven knows which ones specifically at this point—it also leaves you feeling restless and jittery, which can easily trigger all sorts of digestive issues and general discomfort.

If I were in your shoes, I’d start by making sure you cut off the Guarana by 4:00 PM at the latest. If you stick to that, you'll likely find yourself feeling pretty exhausted by the evening, which actually works in your favor; you can catch some decent sleep, and that should make the whole process of weaning yourself off the stuff a whole lot easier to manage.

Usually I don't hit the sack until 3 or 4 AM. I've been pulling some serious all-nighters lately because I have a huge exam coming up, so I'm staying up way too late studying.

Honestly, falling asleep isn't even the hard part—I can pass out whenever, no matter how much I drink. My real worry is what all this caffeine is doing to me long-term since I've been overdoing it, though I've definitely started cutting back lately.

Man, but those late afternoon cravings hit me the hardest.

Emily Fisher26 said:Oh yeah, if you really want to swap out the Guarana, just go with green tea instead. It’ll definitely get your head in the game. Just don't bother with those cheap little tea bags—grab some loose leaf. You gotta heat the water to about 140 degrees, let it steep for three minutes, and that's it. That's the only way to do it right!

Honestly, I’d much rather you just pour that time over us instead of using Guarana.

Good luck!

So, I finally picked up some green tea today and actually followed the instructions... I also decided not to cut back on my Guarana intake by tapering off—instead, I just tried to swap it out entirely. Basically, I went zero caffeine on the energy drinks today and just crushed nothing but tea. And guess what? It actually worked! Not a single energy drink all day, just me and my tea.😁
It hits different... I don't even know how to put it into words, really. I just feel way more chill, and honestly, thank God, because things are going great so far!

Thanks, Musica!👍
