I’ve been browsing through a few threads on Reddit, and I keep getting hit with this same error message:
Your client does not have permission to get URL. What on earth is going on here?🤷 Everything was working perfectly fine until yesterday. Can anyone actually explain what's happening? Help me out!

1. It might just be a glitch with Reddit (it’s entirely possible)
3. You might have accidentally clicked on a thread restricted to mods and admins, or perhaps you're trying to access a deleted post.
-Quick question: which browser are you using? If this keeps happening, it might be worth a clean reinstall. 🙂

P.S.—I just did a quick test, and I'm running into the exact same issue when I search for the site via Google. It's highly unlikely to be an issue on your end; it's more likely a site-side hiccup, probably tied to how Google AdSense loads on certain threads. Try switching over to Firefox.

1. I honestly hope this is just some glitch on Reddit's end.
2. To be clear, I wasn't digging through archived threads; I was trying to access discussions that were perfectly active just two days ago.
3. I've been using Firefox since the very beginning. I even tried checking via Internet Explorer, but I just get hit with a "Your client does not have permission to get URL" error. I rely heavily on the site's Google search function right now because we're currently renovating our apartment here in Chicago, and I'm constantly running into urgent questions that require quick answers.

P.S. My brother cleared all the cookies off my computer a few days back. Could that actually be the culprit? Honestly, I don't know the first thing about how that works.
Thanks

It’s likely not a cookie issue, but rather something happening with the site itself. It looks like they pulled the Google AdSense ads, which is probably where the glitch is coming from if my guess is right. If this keeps up, you should reach out to one of the admins so they can loop in the system administrator to get it squared away. 🙂

Man, I’m seeing the exact same thing over in my Opera. Honestly, just to be sure, I even fired up Edge to test it out and yeah, same nonsense. Now I can't even get Firefox to install because of this mess. Does anyone actually have a semi-logical, non-idiotic explanation for why this is happening?

I even tried firing up Internet Explorer just to troubleshoot this specific mess, but it’s the same story everywhere. Now Firefox won't even let me finish the installation because of it. Does anyone have a plain-English, common-sense explanation for why this is happening?

I feel like I've already covered this, but you'd probably get a much clearer answer if you reached out to the system admins at Orbisov or one of the other IT leads.

For some inexplicable reason, Google has restricted my ability to use the search engine properly. It seems Google is incredibly sensitive to certain specific terms, and since our American vocabulary is so incredibly vast and nuanced, we often run into these hurdles 🙂.

Whenever a link from this forum fails to work through Google, just head straight over to google.com. Once you're there, click on the "Advanced Search" option. In the field labeled "site:"—which restricts results to a specific domain—simply type in forum.com
. By doing this, Google will filter everything so that it only pulls results specifically from this forum for whatever phrase you're hunting for
.
Alternatively, you can just click here and then add your desired keyword or phrase (it doesn't matter if you put it before or after)
.

That way, Google will limit all its results specifically to what's on this site.

site:www.americanforum.com Just pop that in front of whatever you're searching for. It’s probably a cleaner way to do it. 😁

Look, I get that rules exist, but I honestly don't understand how I managed to earn this ban in the first place. 👍 From my perspective, the internet is a tool for gathering information, not a platform for hurling insults or—heaven forbid—searching for adult content. Can anyone actually tell me how long this suspension is supposed to last?
Thanks
Best regards.

I haven't done anything wrong, let alone been disrespectful or gone looking for... well, you know.👍 For me, the web is just a place to learn things, not a playground for insults or searching for filth. Can anyone tell me how long this suspension actually lasts?

It isn't really that you did anything to earn a ban; it’s more like a glitch on Google's end. This happens to people quite often when they navigate to the site through a Google search. It’s likely someone clicked on Google AdSense ads about two hundred times from the same IP address, causing Google to flag the connection. 🤷
Check out the post by Thomas Martin6. 🙂

IBM, I feel a lot better now. I'm starting to realize this isn't actually my fault😁
