Hey ladies,
I was just sitting here thinking about how everyone's journey is so different, and it made me curious—for those of you who were really intentional about it, how much time actually passed between deciding you wanted to get pregnant and when it actually happened?

My first pregnancy happened during my second month of trying. My second one? It happened instantly, right on that one specific day. We had been using an app to track our fertile window, and just for kicks, we decided to use protection for the rest of our cycle after those days passed. Well, I ended up pregnant anyway.

It took five months. We weren't even tracking ovulation or playing the numbers game; we just let things happen naturally without any specific planning, and after five months of that, we finally hit the jackpot.

The first time we were looking at two months out, but this time we just didn't get around to mapping out which two years we’re actually aiming for ahead of schedule😁

So my friend spent two years trying to get pregnant with zero luck. Then she finally started tracking her fertile window and realized she was actually ovulating right when she was on her period. I guess they had sex during her period and—boom—she’s pregnant. 🙂

Three and a half years... just what it took. And honestly? Right when I finally stopped obsessing over getting pregnant—when I was actually starting to think maybe something was just broken inside me—it happened. After cycling through a hundred different doctors, endless blood draws, and more lab results than I can even count, all it took was one single minute of not thinking about it. In that one little minute, I was pregnant.

Eventually, she started tracking her fertile windows and discovered she was actually most fertile during what she thought was her period. As soon as they had sex during that window, she conceived right away. 🙂

Wait, how is it even biologically possible to ovulate and have your period at the same time?
😕

Oh, wonderful. As if anyone hasn't heard the stories of someone getting pregnant during their period? Yes, it happens. It’s a reality, especially for women dealing with irregular cycles where ovulation is a complete moving target. Unless you're being monitored by an OB-GYN via ultrasound or using some incredibly precise tracking method, you're essentially flying blind. Hormones are fickle things; they can glitch or shift unexpectedly, leading to a situation where you think you're one thing when you're actually another. The human body is a strange, unpredictable machine. Just when you think something is biologically impossible, life finds a way to prove you wrong. Sure, the statistical probability might be slim, but "slim" doesn't mean "never."

We've been trying to get this sorted for about four months now, and so far, we haven't seen any progress at all...

Five years before we even thought about having the first kid, then another four before the second... and honestly? That's plenty for us.😉

Did you find yourself naturally swept up in the moment both times?

that first month—provided you’re staying on top of your cycles, tracking basal body temperature, monitoring cervical mucus, and putting in plenty of 🙂

We’re just getting started, barely two months in... It took my mom ten months to conceive, so I'm hoping my timeline is a bit shorter than hers.🙂
