As for stress? It’s my absolute worst enemy. Pretty sure it's messing with my metabolism, but unfortunately, there's no quick fix for that. 😢

Oh, for sure! But you can never truly escape stress... life is just pure chaos. All you can do is grab any tiny moment of peace whenever it shows up. Maybe relaxing your body isn't a long-term cure, but even just doing it for a minute helps the system out... 👍

Fair point... I guess I’ll have to step up my game. 😉

Ugh, hey! I don't know if you've ever looked into those blood type diets... I'm not sure how many people actually buy into it, but honestly? I think there’s some truth there. Every body is different. If you focus on eating what you're actually lacking instead of just overloading on stuff you already have plenty of, you could actually get your metabolism in check. 🙂
For instance, I read that my specific blood type is low on magnesium. So, I started grabbing some effervescent tablets, dissolve them, and drink—now I actually feel way more energized than before. Let's face it, nobody has the bandwidth these days to track every single thing they eat. Taking vitamins helps plug those nutritional gaps caused by crappy modern diets. I don't even touch coffee; I'm strictly a tea person. I even managed to talk my mom into it—she finally kicked her afternoon coffee addiction for good. Now she just sticks to green tea... keeps her going. 🙂

It’s the same exact issues. About six months ago, I stopped taking birth control, and now I’m breaking out with these tiny little pimples in places where I never used to have acne—mostly along my jawline and on my cheeks. I’ve been trying to clear it up with micellar water and drinking a ton of water; it helps a little bit, I guess, but they aren't going away. On top of all that, my cycle is completely messed up. There was one time I didn't even have a period for three months... honestly, those pills are the worst. Never again.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing—that those "post-pill" breakouts are just typical chin and neck acne. But for me, it wasn't just my face; I ended up with breakouts all over my back, and they weren't even those tiny little bumps. We're talking deep, painful, cystic acne.
And what about weight gain?

I took a hit from them too. At first, I kept digging into the issue, which probably just made things flare up, but now that I’ve stopped messing with it, things have calmed down a bit. They're still there, though. As for my weight, I haven't really had any issues with that, so it’s pretty much the same situation. I guess I'm just wondering how long it actually takes for my body to clear this out—when is it finally going to go away?

Honestly, my libido just completely dies when I'm on the pill. I used to joke that they designed them that way on purpose—like, you're so uninterested in sex that you basically can't get pregnant anyway. It’s kind of a dark thought, right? 🤣
I’m still taking Yasmin, though, mostly because my anxiety about pregnancy is through the roof. 🙄

Alright, ladies... my skin from Yasmin (just like it was with Dianama before) is flawless. Unfortunately, everything else is totally out of whack. My period lasts a full seven days now. I’m not experiencing pain, but then again, I didn't have any before the pill either. Honestly, back when I had a few months' break about two years ago, my skin broke out so badly I looked like a total wreck. I always told myself the side effects were worth it as long as my complexion stayed clear.

But lately—for more than six months now—my libido has been at absolute zero. I just don't feel like it... ever. And that isn't normal or acceptable to me. I've scheduled an appointment with my doctor, but they'll basically just tell me what I already know: choose between clear skin on the pill or having sex on the shots. (And trust me, that choice is much harder than it looks. 🙄)

Ugh, tell me about it. After ten years—from being thirteen all the way to twenty-three—of dealing with absolute hellish skin, I finally got two years of clear skin and no more painful periods. But now my libido is totally shot. You seriously can't have it all, can you?...
Honestly though, I’m still sticking with this option with Yasmin for now! I'm actually terrified of how I'll look once I decide to stop taking it.

You’ve got me a little spooked here... I’ve been drinking Yasmin for quite some time now. 😁 Personally, I’ve never dealt with acne—not before I started Yasmin, not while I’m on it, and not even during my breaks. I’m just hoping that doesn't change once I stop taking it. But honestly? My biggest issue is the massive, massive, massive mood swings. I struggle with deep bouts of depression and irritability; I just feel completely unmotivated and drained. 😢 I think I’m going to have to look into an alternative...

So, I’ve been reading through your posts and felt like I should probably jump in and share my own take on things based on what I've lived through...
My final verdict comes after being off Yasmin for two months, following a six-month stretch on them...😁

Regarding Yasmin:
Skin (total breakouts) was a 5; appetite was a 0; breast size stayed the same 😢..😬, libido was a 5 😍; my period was honestly never more noticeable—it was shorter and less painful than usual 🙂; and the depression... well, it was just endless... but, I suppose what I realized about myself—and how I reacted to the pill—is that it mostly just amplified whatever states I was already in, whether physical or mental... so, yeah.🙂
It’s a shame I can't keep taking them, because "aside from" the depression, there weren't really any other bad side effects.

After stopping:
My skin actually got a little worse right after I quit, though nothing too extreme, and that dip passed within about a month. Skin is back to its usual self, I guess..
My period feels just like it did before I started, though I haven't had one of those painful episodes yet (the kind where you actually pass out). Hopefully, I won't have to deal with that again; maybe they actually helped clear up some cysts, which is supposedly one of the benefits.
The weight is slowly creeping back (along with my breasts), mostly because my appetite is absolutely through the roof now—though maybe that wild hunger will eventually settle down..
Libido has definitely dropped..
The depression and everything else seems to be back to my baseline (as much of a "baseline" as I can manage..😉)

And that's pretty much it... I have a new pack sitting here, brand new, unopened... but honestly, the thought of the depression makes me hesitant.

Lisa Martin50 said:So, I’ve noticed this weird side effect with Yasmin—they're actually my first time ever being on birth control, and I’ve been taking them for a little over a year now. My period has definitely gotten longer. It lasts exactly seven days, and if I happen to have sex on that last day, I’ll still be spotting a little bit on day eight. 😢

I had the exact same thing happen on Dianama. Seven days, sometimes eight—it’s enough to drive you insane. And it wasn't even a heavy flow, just that annoying, constant trickle. Honestly, I’d much rather deal with a total blowout for three days and be done with it. 😁 Look, it’s just like this...

I’ve been on Yasmin for about a year now, and I haven't experienced any side effects.
I didn't really have many skin issues to begin with, though I used to get a few breakouts right before my period started—but since I started taking the pill, that hasn't been an issue anymore.
I have gained about 15 pounds, but given my height and build, I don't think it's a huge deal... though I have noticed that the weight seems much harder to lose lately, regardless of how much effort I put in.
