How long should a song be for a slideshow?

I have a really specific question here, and I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Is there actually a way—and I mean, is it even possible—to have one single song play continuously across several different slides
in a PowerPoint presentation?
I already know how to drop a track onto a single slide, but I haven't quite figured out how
to make it carry over through, say, five consecutive slides before finally cutting off...
I could really use some help ASAP because I need this ready by tomorrow!!

Since this isn't really the right subforum for technical troubleshooting, I’ll just lay it out for you: go to insert=>movies and sounds=>sound from file=>right-click the speaker icon=>select custom animation=>double-click the track => navigate to the timing tab, and under the repeat section, select until end of slide before hitting ok. That should do the trick. 🙂
