How do I actually set up a poll on these vBulletin forums?

Next time you start a new thread, just toggle the poll option when you're setting it up. If you enable that, you'll still be able to see everything you need.☕

It’s actually pretty straightforward. When you're getting ready to start a new thread and you've already typed out your content, just look right below that for the "Advanced Options" section. Check the box that says "add a poll to this topic," and—this is the part people miss—you have to go into those extra settings first to decide exactly how many response options you want in your poll. Once you hit "post thread," the topic goes live immediately while you finish setting up the poll, though honestly, it doesn't take much time to put one together anyway. After you've punched in your question and all the possible answers, you can toggle the option at the bottom to make the poll public if you want everyone to see exactly who voted for what. Then, just click "add poll" at the very end, and you're all set.🙂

Alright, I get that part, but the issue is I’m trying to do this on other vBulletin forums. Specifically on http://www.sherdog.net/forums/, those "Advanced Options" don't even have a poll feature.

It’s entirely possible the admin just disabled the polling feature for users. On a standard vBulletin setup, that's all controlled through the admin control panel. 🙂

Then go ask them on their own forum.

For those who actually know what they're doing!

When you go to start a new thread and type out your content, look right under that for "Advanced Options." Check the box that says "Add a poll to this topic," and then down at the very bottom, hit "Post Thread." Just make sure you’ve already picked how many response options you want in those advanced settings first.

Got it!

The thread actually goes live while you're setting up the poll, but honestly, it doesn't take much time to get everything organized. Once you've set your question and the possible answers, there’s an option at the bottom if you want to make the results public—meaning everyone can see how people voted. From there, just click "Add Poll" and you're all set.🙂

All good!👍
