Online news vs. print: which do you prefer?

I am looking for some assistance regarding a research paper I am currently drafting. My topic focuses on whether people are gravitating more toward traditional print newspapers or digital news outlets. Once you have selected your answer, I would appreciate it if you could briefly explain your reasoning and mention which specific publications you follow. Thank you for your help.

I pretty much read everything—almost religiously—online: The Evening News, the New York Post, the Chicago Tribune, maybe the occasional piece from Slate 😬, plus those big national outlets like CNN or Time... basically every single day.

As for the physical stuff, I actually subscribe to The Evening News since the newsstand is a bit of a trek, and honestly, there’s nothing quite like sitting down with a coffee on Saturday or Sunday and diving into the print edition. That’s why they show up at my door five days a week—on the weekends, I’ll go cover to cover, but during the week, I usually just flip through them—since I've already caught most of it online anyway.

I don't really bother with the online stuff even though I could, and I only pick up the paper copies on weekends. 🤷

I never really bother with reading things online. I much prefer the old-school way... sitting down with a fresh cup of coffee in the morning...👍

I tend to stick to digital formats—mostly for the sheer convenience, the ability to stay up-to-date in real-time, and, let’s be honest, it's much easier on the wallet.

The only physical paper I still bother picking up is The Evening News on Fridays just to glance at the weekend TV listings (though even that habit is fading now that everything is streamed instantly online anyway).

I don't really bother with online news much.
I’ll check the real deal—like the LA Times—regularly, maybe some sports sites or CNN, and I might skim The Evening News when I'm grabbing a coffee or a beer at a local pub.

The Evening News, local papers, the New York Times, and even some foreign stuff like the NY Post or USA Today.
As for actual physical papers—I usually just grab the free ones like the Metro or Newsday.

Otherwise, I might pick up a weekly paper here and there—maybe something like Rolling Stone or a local satire rag...

I basically just stick to scrolling through news sites online—you know, stuff like CNN, Fox News, or The Evening News... honestly, the only real difference between digital and print is that online beats it hands down because you get the updates instantly and it doesn't cost you a dime.
But man, whenever I'm out on vacation down by the coast, I end up buying almost every physical paper I can find just to have something to kill the time with.😁

Even though I spend a ton of time scrolling through stuff on the web, I still prefer being out in the world. There’s just something about grabbing a coffee, lighting up, catching the morning paper, and having that one buddy there to riff on the news with. You know, like when you're sitting at a diner in Chicago and you turn to them and say, "Look at this idiot, he managed to wrap his car completely around a tree. It’s practically performance art how he got it coiled around that oak" or something along those lines... 😁

I find myself scrolling through news online way more often, but there’s still something about the physical paper I prefer. 😁 Honestly, with just a few clicks on my phone, I can jump between four or five different news sites and digest a mountain of headlines in minutes. I usually only pick up a printed paper if I'm grabbing a coffee at a local diner or if one happens to land right in front of me. 🙂

I prefer the digital ones since I can't lose them, rip them up, or screw them up, but the physical ones are definitely better if you just want to sit down with a crossword or something like that.
