I’m asking you to please unlock the thread "anti-Mexican sentiment" because this isn't even political discourse like Harold Taylor6 claims, nor does it violate any rules within the Democratic Party sub-forum. Look, I can't police everything every single user says; I actually tried asking them what they were even talking about since it was irrelevant and warned them to stay Ontopic, but there's only so much I can do... It feels like I'm being punished here instead of the people actually derailing the conversation.

I honestly can't control what certain users decide to type. I asked them what they were even talking about since it wasn't the topic at hand, and I warned them to stay on topic, but that's really where my influence ends. As it stands, I'm actually the one being penalized here instead of the people actually derailing the discussion.

I spent my entire time trying to keep this discussion going, I even lost my temper and insulted a user named Danny—told him he was sick, which I actually apologized for later because I felt bad—but you were supposed to be here to protect me and this perfectly valid thread from those two trolls who were clearly just looking to bury it, yet instead, you punished me by deleting everything and wiping out all my effort...

It isn't personal. It’s just that politics is for the losers, whereas the Democratic Party is meant for much simpler conversations.

I have a question for the admins. We all saw how things were handled over at the Democratic Party section—threads get nuked the second users start posting anything with a political slant. Does that rule apply to the entire forum, or is it strictly limited to the Democratic Party section? For instance, if someone starts a thread about recipes and I jump in to start a political debate, will my specific posts be flagged and deleted, or does the whole thread get wiped out?

Amanda Diaz, there really isn't such a thing as a set of universal rules for these matters. Each sub-forum functions as its own little ecosystem, complete with its own unique discourse, internal logic, and specific sense of humor. Universal rules are generally reserved for the overarching site policy—things like prohibiting personal attacks or preventing discrimination based on race, gender, or religion... and, of course, the standard guidelines regarding moderator interactions.

So, perhaps you should direct your inquiry to the Food & Drink board.
