Hey—I was stuck on a Shakira loop forever, but a few days ago I realized No Doubt actually has the better tracks. Honestly, I tossed everything Shakira had aside. They’re just on another level. I downloaded their album and I'm digging everything so far. Now I'd love it if someone could drop some knowledge on them or link an interesting site, since I'm basically starting from zero here.

There is zero chance we ever see No Doubt like that again. That ska era is dead and buried, and Gwen Stefani has moved way past it.
Personally, I dig every single version of her sound and style. I actually bleached my own hair just because I saw her rocking it. 😁

No Doubt is a band that holds a very special place in my heart—though I have to say, I find Rock Steady to be quite a disappointing album. On Tragic Kingdom, they managed to include several standout tracks—I really appreciated the unique individuality of that record—but I just wasn't a fan of the second album, mostly because it felt like the band had lost its identity. The songs seemed somewhat soulless, almost indistinguishable from the tracks put out by pop stars like Rihanna or Beyoncé. Because of that, I am fully in favor of a No Doubt reunion, provided they return to their roots and produce music that captures that old magic—songs that are perhaps as strong as Excuse me mr., Just a Girl, Spiderwebs, Don't Speak, Sunday Morning, or Ex-girlfriend.

I feel like I've just been left with nothing. It’s honestly such a letdown.

No Doubt is getting back together, and honestly, that’s fantastic news. They basically spent almost all of 2008 hunkered down in the studio. Since Gwen Stefani was dealing with her pregnancy, she wasn't around quite as much, making that big premiere performance during her fifth month really stand out. According to some sources, the new album—which is pretty much finished at this point—is slated for a March release, though other rumors are pointing toward early summer. The band members have mentioned plans for massive tours throughout 2009 and 2010, but for now, there's only one show actually on the books for 2009. I’ve been looking back through their performances over their 22 years together, and the closest they’ve ever come to our neck of the woods was playing in Prague and Milan. Because of that, I’m highly skeptical that we'll see them perform anywhere near us anytime soon.

Wait, since when was Tragic Kingdom their first album? No Doubt actually dropped their self-titled debut back in 1992. Tragic Kingdom is actually their third full-length release, especially when you consider they put out two different projects in 1995—the Beacon Street Collection came out before that one.

No Doubt is easily one of my favorite bands, mostly because they’ve always felt like they were playing a completely different game than everyone else out there—probably thanks to that whole ska influence they brought to the table.
If you ask me, Gwen Stefani’s solo career has been a total flop. She basically pivoted toward pure commercialism—even if she tries to frame it in her own quirky, twisted way—and she just isn't churning out those timeless, unforgettable anthems that defined No Doubt.
I mean, I think it’s awesome that they’re finally making a comeback, but honestly? I have no idea how this is actually going to turn out.🤷
If they could just recreate the magic of Tragic Kingdom, then both the fans and the artists would finally be happy.

I usually listen to better music, but No Doubt is a solid band; personally, I think the solo career was a total flop. So many people really missed the mark there. It honestly feels like they just grew apart.

But seriously, they are incredible. I’ve been a fan since the Beacon Street Album, and they’ve stayed great ever since... the lyrics on Return of Saturn are legendary, and Tragic Kingdom is an absolute classic...😍

That being said, I still think No Doubt is a legendary band.

I dig no Doubt mostly because of their deep cuts—not just the massive radio hits. Personally, I’m all about "Sunday Morning" and "Bathwater," plus "Underneath It All" is definitely in the mix too. It’s that whole punk-ska vibe that gives me total The Clash vibes—you can really hear it in "Sunday Morning."
