The last time I was intimate was back in early November, and I was on birth control at the time. My period was totally normal for the following two months, but now I've missed this first one. I did go through a pretty stressful stretch from late November through early January. I've also dealt with ovarian cysts a few times before, though they cleared up after I stopped taking those pills. I read somewhere that it's possible to have an issue during these first few months, so I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

I don't know what's wrong with your uterus, but I definitely know what's wrong with your brain.🙂

What a bunch of empty insults...🙄 She probably realizes by now that a pregnancy test would just confirm what she already knows after all this time... but let's be real, most of us have been there—that total paranoia when your period is late and your mind starts racing through that tiny 0.1% chance of anything being wrong. You start spiraling, especially when you're younger. Honestly, internet forums just fuel that anxiety with all the talk about false positives, phantom periods, or being on birth control. She likely took a test, finally got her period, or just calmed down and thought it through, but she just needed that one bit of reassurance right at the moment she was panicking.

Just popping in here to share something on this topic...
So, my friend from high school—she’s only 16—has been seeing this guy. I don't even know how many guys she's been with, but anyway, her most recent thing was back in November... basically, during the whole Christmas holiday break, they were hooking up every single damn night. And now... well, she hasn't had her period at all for December, January, or February. And get this—they weren't really using any protection, and he's telling her he finished inside her three times... at least, that's what she knows, who knows how many more times there actually were...
Long story short... I finally forced her to just go out and get a test. I bought it for her myself. She took it, and yeah, it came back positive. And her response? She’s like, "It doesn't mean I'm pregnant," because, you know, everyone says those tests aren't always reliable... oh, and I almost forgot to mention, she's been throwing up every single morning... so... yeah...

Anyway... I honestly don't know what else to say to her. I told her if she doesn't care, then fine, I don't care either... and she ended things with him after that. It feels like she still hasn't truly grasped the reality of the situation....

Amy Jones60, what is wrong with your friend? Is she crazy or something? When her stomach starts growing, she'll blame the food, then when she actually has a baby, she’ll probably ask where on earth that came from.
Maybe this sounds harsh, but have people in the South never heard of books, the internet, or watching TV?
It is unbelievable. You guys are having sex at sixteen but you don't read books....

It's totally possible for birth control to mess with your cycle. Like, if you start a new pack, your period might skip, so even if it feels like you've missed two months, maybe you've really only missed one? But from what I understand—and I'm no doctor—you usually get your period once you stop taking the pills because the hormones drop.

At the end of the day, you're the only one who knows if there's a chance you could be pregnant... I mean, did you have unprotected sex or anything?!!!!

P.S. If you stop using birth control, I don't know how to explain it perfectly, but it's like your body ramps up its ability to conceive.
That's why some women take them for a month right before starting IVF, then they stop...

Maria White97 said:Amy Jones60, is your friend actually losing her mind or what? Like, when she starts getting a belly, I guess people will just assume it's from too many cheeseburgers, right? And then once she has a baby, is she going to act shocked and ask where on earth this thing came from?
It might sound a bit harsh, but honestly, have you guys in the South never picked up a book, scrolled through the internet, or even turned on a TV?
It’s wild to me—you're all out here having sex at sixteen, but suddenly reading a book is too much work...

Heh... well, we aren't from the South, so...
And look, the girl isn't crazy; it’s more like she’s completely oblivious... or maybe she knows and is just playing it off...
I mean, I get why she’d be terrified to tell her mom, honestly, I would be too. But it really would’ve been better to just come clean from the jump so everything could be sorted out. Now, she’s gone and dumped that idiot, and she’s left to deal with the fallout all by herself...
I don't know... when it comes to this specific situation, she's being totally clueless, like she hasn't a single idea how the world works... but as a person, she's actually really sweet...
Man...

Regarding that question Ana posted—look, I get it... but this is about a girl having unprotected sex and then just sitting around waiting for the pregnancy to somehow resolve itself😲🤷 I’m honestly in shock

😁 man, come on, it’s nine months from now... they'll probably be well over 6 or 7 pounds...

sounds harsh, I know, but that's just how it goes...

Ugh, just ignore what everyone is telling you... according to them, if you miss a period, you're automatically pregnant. I went through the exact same thing. Just get back on the pill and everything will be fine. If you were using protection via the pill when you had sex, the chances of being pregnant are tiny.☕

I honestly just don't get women who would rather spend months straight freaking out over a possible pregnancy instead of just grabbing a pregnancy test and getting it over with once and for all.🙄
I felt the exact same way once when my period was two weeks late—even though I hadn't even had unprotected sex, I still went out and bought a test just to be sure... I mean, things can definitely run late because of stress, being sick, taking antibiotics, or even stuff like hormonal imbalances, PCOS, or thyroid issues.
