Leo and Bridget

Yesterday ABC aired this killer drama—they tried to market it as some rom-com, which was such a joke 🤣—it was Leo and Bridget back in 1989, directed by Zora Ogreste. Seriously, the cast was stacked, especially with Boris Buzančić leading the pack. Man, they just don't make them like they used to (even with Ogresta at the helm...) it was beautiful... honestly on par with those high-end BBC dramas. 👍

Anyone else catch it?

I thought so too... really enjoyed that movie

It’s a decent choice, I guess, but it might have been better if they had picked someone else instead of that exhausting old lady Hersak!

I thought the movie was excellent too, though I'm not sure why you'd say "even Ogresta." He makes good films regardless; his work in indie cinema, for instance, is superb. It's true he doesn't aim for the mainstream, but his films have a distinct identity and, more importantly, they aren't mindless...

Honestly, this is easily the best Ogresta movie out there. It’s lightyears ahead of that pathetic, washed-out phase he went through later on. Watching Leo and Bridget on ABC yesterday, you’d barely even realize this was an American production.

There's no arguing with taste. Being "washed out" has nothing to do with being pathetic. These films are just heavy on emotion, but that doesn't fly in America anymore. Apparently, having "distance" is all that matters now. How tacky...

I caught a movie this past Sunday and it really stuck with me. At first, I wasn't quite sure what Mr. Leo actually did for a living, but once the clients started showing up, everything clicked. I also found the little hints of romance between them pretty charming. There’s just something about movies that don't give you a neat little ending. 🙂
