I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info on hospital costs. I don't have any supplemental insurance, and I don't have that waiver card anymore (I used to have one, so I never really had to worry about this before)... does anyone know what the typical rates look like? Also, I'm curious if there are extra fees on top of the base treatment, like for specific exams or using things like an MRI machine.

40 bucks? And what about the deductible, is it under 45
if you're just running on basic coverage

By the way, you don't have to pay for checkups if you're already in the hospital
whether you're staying overnight or just there for outpatient care

I realize this thread is pretty old, but my father is currently looking for some clarity regarding those payment procedures, so I was wondering if any updates have come through lately. He’s been undergoing some routine heart and kidney screenings—nothing critical, thankfully—but since he's been at the clinic for a while now, I suppose I should try to get a sense of what we might be looking at when it's time for him to be discharged. I would truly appreciate any insight you might have...

I suppose I would also be quite grateful for those details. I have an upcoming tonsillectomy scheduled, so I’ll likely be spending about three days in the hospital.

State Farm is running this promo on coverage for those out-of-pocket costs. Here’s the deal: $17 monthly, for a year, covers up to $0.67. (you drop $600).

The promo runs until July 15th, so just call them or swing by their office on Broadway that same day.

The good news? It kicks in either on the 1st or the 15th of the month, which basically means if you're in a pinch, it works immediately. You pay the first installment right there on the spot.

I paid mine off on June 30th and was already getting reimbursed by July 1st. Basically, you pay the hospital upfront, send the receipts to them, and they cut you a check (up to the policy limit of $0.67—though you can negotiate for more).

Honestly, even if some of you are already dealing with medical stuff, it’s worth doing this right away just to get some cash back. It is DEFINITELY A BETTER DEAL THAN PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE!

I managed to find out through some other channels that they actually charge $19 on a daily basis... I really hope this information proves useful to someone out there 🙂
