What movie is playing on TV AGAIN?

Alright, my fellow cinephiles, movie buffs, mods, and everyone else 😁

It happens to me all the time—I'll be scrolling through the schedule on our big networks and I'll spot a certain movie, and I just can't help but think to myself, "Are you kidding me?!?!? 😕".

So, I figured I'd start this thread as a little place where we could—if people are actually down for it—keep a running tally of those movies that seem to air on TV for the five-hundredth time. 😁 It won't be the easiest thing to manage, especially if this really takes off, but I was thinking we could list a movie that's constantly playing (I'm kicking things off with US Marshals airing tonight), note when it aired, where it was on, and then once it starts repeating (which, let's face it, 😉 ), we just quote the previous post and bump the count.

Also, we could—just for fun, honestly, I'll probably do it just to mess around—use Warning! OK Movies on TV as a sort of guide to look back at 😉

And, yeah, the usual plea: please, please don't turn this into a massive debate or anything. Let's try to keep this as a mostly useless reminder of how many times our three major networks show us bad movies (way too often) and good ones (rarely) 🙂

I honestly don't even know which part of my head is throbbing more whenever I hear someone start talking about predators...

The entire lineup on RTL today is basically just this one theme:

1) Ghostbusters at 9 AM—honestly, if I haven't seen this movie fifty times already, then I've never seen it... 🙄
2) Multiplicity—for goodness sake, 🙄 🙄
3) Spies Like Us—like, the millionth time... seriously, it’s just not hitting the mark at all 👎
4) Return to the Blue Lagoon—I’d say this is just a rerun of a rerun of a rerun from yesterday or the day before 😢

On the new channel: total cliffhanger 👎

And the local networks are still messing around with Police Academy, even though they were running that same depressing marathon around this time last year 😢

Ah, what a classic. Seeing Chevy Chase and Eddie Murphy at their absolute best is always a joy. Didn't one of them just make a comeback recently?😕

Moving along with Richard Pryor has been on
TV at least three times this year on RTL.
The last time was last week, though I can't recall the exact day.
I’m usually down to watch those dumb 80s flicks,
but even I have limits. You can't just air the same thing every few months. 🙄

And as for Blue Lagoon... it's getting old......🙂

Good grief, I swear that movie only comes on once a month! 😲 😂

He’s certainly gone full throttle on FOX more times than I can count. It will probably be the same exact thing again in a month or so.

I can almost wrap my head around FOX and ABC constantly nagging us with endless reruns of old movies—films everyone has already seen about ten billion times.

But PBS? It’s just pure filler—hardly ever any actual new cinema. To be honest, things were actually decent a few years back; they used to air new releases. Now? Instead of grabbing the broadcast rights for recent hits as soon as they drop, they just sit there.

Then again, who cares? We all have torrents.😁

How is it even possible that FOX won't be airing Godzilla or Independence Day for New Year's Eve this year?😂 😂 😂 😂 It's really just a matter of time before they announce one of those two—complete with some over-the-top promo for what they'll claim is the greatest thing since the invention of electricity.

I can already see the teaser and hear that vapid voiceover... "....We thought we were alone.......We were wrong..." 🤣
