OB/GYN experiences at Mercury

Is the OB-GYN department over at Mercury actually that much of a dumpster fire? I mean, I’ve been hearing some absolutely unhinged horror stories lately that are honestly hard to wrap my head around. Has anyone here actually had a decent experience with that hospital?

So, I was over at the internal medicine wing—specifically hematology—and honestly, it was just 🙏 🙏 🙏
. I was totally blown away by the doctors there; I’ve seriously never experienced such a genuine, comfortable doctor-patient connection in my life!

As for the OB-GYN department, I can't say for sure. I heard some rumors about people getting abortions after the third month if they have enough cash to cover it and all that. But then again, you hear stories like that everywhere, not just at that clinic.

My experience has been pretty decent! Gynecology covers so much ground though, and there are tons of different specialists... I'm curious, what kind of horror stories have you been hearing? What specifically went wrong?

So, a coworker of mine just gave birth over there and she’s honestly been traumatized for life because of the whole experience. Maybe she was being a bit dramatic since she had a high-risk pregnancy and a brutal delivery, but she told me they basically left her lying there for two days in blood-soaked sheets and the nurses were just straight-up gross. 🤷 I mean, is that even possible? I get that hospitals are strapped for cash lately, but leaving someone in filthy linens is just crossing a line.👎

Honestly, I have to say, looking back at all my positive experiences, it’s been truly wonderful...🙏 🙏 First, regarding my vaginal delivery—everything was absolutely seamless, from the doctors to the nursing staff. Second and third, my C-section experience was just as smooth; I spent the first three days in the ICU and then twelve days in postpartum care, and honestly, the whole process was top-notch. Unfortunately, I did have to undergo a D&C this past summer...😢 But even then, there was zero pain and no bleeding issues at all. They really knocked it out of the park...👍

I had my baby at Mercury... and I have to admit, I didn't have any bad experiences. Then again, maybe my labor was just relatively easy, and the epidural worked perfectly, so perhaps that’s part of the reason...
The only thing was, there was one doctor I really didn't care for. I won't name names, but they're pretty well-known and highly regarded in the field...

I spent a few days in the OB-GYN department at Mercury last year, and I have to say, the nurses were incredibly kind... It actually caught me off guard because everyone had warned me they were usually high-strung and just didn't care about much, doing things their own way regardless of the rules... But these women were truly wonderful. They were so friendly, upbeat, and genuinely took the time to answer all my questions clearly.
