Honestly, I think they totally botched the title. It probably should have been called "The Killing of a Mockingbird." This movie is just pure chill vibes.

I remember trying to sit through those horror flicks like Insect or Spooky Swamp, and they were such absolute garbage that I could barely make it to the credits. This? This was pure entertainment.

The sequence where Bed Guy hides behind a counter, preventing Clive from landing a shot, is truly absurd. He ends up shooting his companion instead, who collapses to the floor, only for him to fire again at the man's hand—which happens to be pointing right back at the idiot hiding behind the counter. Then, he shoots the companion's hand yet again, causing a reflexive shot to go off toward the guy behind the counter. It’s absolutely mind-blowing, truly unprecedented filmmaking. 😁

Owen is generally the man, especially after seeing him in Closer, but I feel like he’s kind of coasting with this role. I get that everyone is making these gritty, non-scripted indie flicks nowadays, but does he really have to...? Monica Bellucci is also incredible, but honestly, why does she keep taking these roles where she plays the femme fatale? It's like those two roles weren't enough for her. The movie itself is total garbage (aside from the special effects, but hey, every recent movie has decent CGI). I just hope Owen doesn't sign on for another project like this, otherwise, he's going to be a washed-up actor real fast.

Honestly, I was just physically nauseated by how much this movie drags and overstays its welcome. For about half the runtime, I found myself constantly questioning the logic of what was happening on screen—it was just so grating. Even a game like Max Payne feels more grounded in reality than this mess. I ended up powering through the second half with a completely checked-out mindset, treating it like total brain candy, and somehow it felt slightly less painful. Ultimately, this flick was clearly designed for people who want to turn their brains off entirely and just zone out.

The movie is kind of hilarious—you’ve got this guy driving around and just killing people with The Killing of a Mockingbird, but somehow it’s still interesting in its own weird way. Honestly though, our guy Clive is actually more capable than Rambo, Chuck, Bruce Lee, Terminator, Batman, and the rest of them.

I actually caught this movie yesterday, and honestly, it was great. I haven't seen this much shooting, trashiness, The Killing of a Mockingbird (if you've watched it, you'll get what I mean), and incredibly convoluted plots in a long time. The ninety minutes flew by, though. It’s definitely a film meant for just relaxing without overthinking anything.
Granted, the cast is top-tier: Clive Owen, Monica Bellucci, and Paul Giamatti. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to just unwind.

It's decent trash, but I've seen much harder hitters.

While this movie might not be the latest release on the block, I finally sat down to give it a watch recently.

It is pure, unadulterated grindhouse cinema, filmed with a genuine passion for the genre.

The acting is truly top-tier, starting with Owen and Monica, but I must say, Paul Giamatti is particularly standout; he delivers such a magnificent performance as the villain.

In my estimation, this is an absolutely superb feature for anyone who finds joy in the world of cult trash films.

If one considers the standard set by Planet Terror, this might just be the finest piece of trash cinema we have seen in years.😁

(Of course, that assumes you are someone who possesses a deep appreciation for actors and practical effects.)
