So, *Jumper* is the latest flick hitting theaters, based on that controversial novel by Steven Gould—blah, blah, blah. I’ve dropped the trailer link below.

The whole point of my post is this:

If you ask me, *Jumper*—just like Gould's book, really—is nothing more than a blatant rip-off of Dubravko Jelacic Buzimskog " Martin protiv CIA-e i KGB-a" (you know, that classic tale of *Martin vs. the CIA and the FBI*).

If any of you old-timers remember that story from back in the day—and then take a look at this trailer—you might just find yourself nodding along with me.🙂

Some of us totally missed that one.
Can you break down the parallels in just a few sentences?

Jumper is an adaptation based on the novella by Steven Gould. The whole thing centers on a young guy named Davey who discovers he has this incredible gift—specifically, the ability to teleport himself anywhere he wants.

Doug Liman is at the helm here, the same director behind Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity. Hayden Christensen takes on the role of Davey, and we've also got Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Bell in some pretty significant parts.

From what I can gather looking at the trailer, it seems like a solid, well-executed adventure action sci-fi flick. On a production level, it looks high-quality, though it definitely feels like CGI is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. At first glance, it actually reminds me of something Michael Bay might have cooked up. Of course, a trailer is one thing, but the full-length movie is a completely different beast. We'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out...

As for any similarities between Gould's novella and the work of Jelaćić Buzimskog, I can't really say anything for certain since I haven't read either one. I don't even know the release dates for them, so if anyone happens to know, feel free to fill us in...
