EBV vs. Parvo: What are your experiences?

It looks like a combination. 😠 The parvovirus seems to be the primary driver here, and we’ve had a positive result from the IMg test.
The mortality rate is unfortunately quite high right now.😲
If anyone has any firsthand experience or clinical advice to share, I would truly appreciate it.🙂
And then there's the flu... most likely.

It seems like there isn't much documented experience out there. Either these viruses are considered insignificant by others, or I am seeing something much more serious. Believe me, this feels significant.😢
What can I even do? At this point, my only option feels like waiting to see if they just succumb to one another.😁

I'm guessing we're looking at parvo B19 here? How long does that stuff actually hang around... Also, what's the IgM titer looking like? And is there any positivity for EBV or EA?

You’re spot on with your guess.👍 It is indeed Parvovirus B19—I just tried to shorten the name for brevity.😁 His titer came back at 2.7.
His EA level is 48.
I know it’s probably nothing life-threatening,😁 but it has definitely been weighing on my mind.👎

Just to kick things off... have you actually had a CMV serology done yet? Because a CMV infection can trigger plasma cell reactivation, which basically means your body starts churning out antibodies for old illnesses you thought you'd already moved past.

If it isn't that, then we might be looking at some other kind of immune system glitch. I mean, Parvovirus B19 persistence is incredibly rare, and even EBV doesn't hang around that often. Then again, there's always the possibility you're dealing with chronic fatigue syndrome triggered by EBV. There isn't really a specific cure for that one, unfortunately... though I guess the small consolation is that it eventually clears up, even if it drags on for years. Have your liver enzymes been normal? How's your CBC looking? Any swollen lymph nodes?

Of course, it is entirely possible that you are dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome triggered by EBV. While there aren't any specific "silver bullet" therapies for that, the silver lining is that it does eventually resolve, even if it feels like it takes years. How are your liver enzymes looking? What does your complete blood count show? Also, have you noticed any swollen lymph nodes?

Yes, I have. My CMV results came back negative for IgM, but my IgG is at 4.8.
As for EBV, that was confirmed five years ago. Back then, they told me it had already been persisting for quite a while. It’s definitely still in my system.😲
I have spent so much time researching and digging through information. Looking back, I realize I actually fared quite well considering the sheer amount of stress I've endured compared to the health I have now.🙂

But these viruses continue to plague me in different ways. I am someone who truly loves being productive—I have so much work to do, and I would love to spend more time writing—but these bugs just knock me sideways right when I feel most capable and have the most on my plate.😠
I want to break this cycle. Please, tell me how.🙂 What can I actually do? I've tried everything and followed all sorts of advice, but nothing has helped me finally conquer this EBV.
Maybe you have some insight. 🙂
Do you think taking a month of medical leave would help? I could just handle the bare essentials of my job and spend the rest of my time resting or perhaps doing some light writing here on the forum.😛
I’ve been battling an additional viral infection lately, and it has been quite a struggle. 😲
Can thirty days of pure rest actually help me defeat these viruses? Can I essentially declare war on them starting today?
What else would you suggest to support that plan?
Honestly, I am just fed up with these viruses. They’ve started dictating my entire life, and I’m ready to take control back.👎

I almost forgot to mention... the liver results came back within the normal range. His blood work looks excellent, too. A few years back, he had some enlarged lymph nodes, but at the time, the doctors couldn't quite pin down the cause.
