Most of the time (honestly, pretty much always), when I'm hanging out in my room, I light up a candle in an aromatherapy burner with some oil. Since I spend a ton of time doing this, I'm wondering if there are any actual health risks involved...

I guess it might actually be kind of risky if you’re trying to use basic supplements instead of using pure essential oils for that purpose. I mean, you really want the real deal, like stuff from brands such as Spring, Oshadhi, or Pranar. Generally speaking, most of the other things you can just pick up at a local drugstore here aren't the genuine article.

If you're using those super cheap essential oils—like the ones you pick up at a drugstore for $6.75—and you're inhaling them for hours on end, it’s really not the healthiest habit. You aren't actually breathing in pure essential oils; you're mostly just breathing in synthetic fillers and additives. In those cases, you're honestly better off just cracking a window for some fresh air or lighting an incense stick from a local boutique...

I'm with Olivia Lee23 on this one. I stick exclusively to Oshadhi (I actually use it professionally for massage work).

If I could just jump in here and pose a quick question
I’ve been using those essential oils too, but my method is a bit different; I just put them in a little water container and hang it right over the radiator
Does that make it just as harmful? Or is there a difference?

I honestly feel like it’s just way better to go out of your way and grab some high-quality essential oils, you know? Like, if you're looking at things such as mandarin, lemon, eucalyptus, peppermint, or even lavender, those aren't actually that pricey at all—they're pretty affordable, really—and you won't have to worry about any weird side effects or anything like that. Plus, I guess the scent itself is just so much more vibrant and lovely when you're using the good stuff instead of the cheap synthetic versions 😍
