The Dropkick Murphys are in a league of their their own... honestly, they're the only punk rock band I can actually stomach listening to lately.

The Ramones have two elements of punk rock, but they're tied incredibly closely to the IRA.

This music is just unreal... I remember the first time I heard an old-school drinking song and I was hooked instantly...
I think McKenna played a show in Chicago maybe a year and a half ago... they were incredible... man... 😁

Honestly, out of everything you guys mentioned, I’ve only ever listened to Flogging Molly, and they are absolutely incredible... so yeah, I’m definitely going to start downloading the rest of them right now. 👍 👍

Go ahead, just download them... seriously, if you’re feeling the vibe with Flogging Molly, you aren't gonna be disappointed by any of the others. I'm telling you, it's a guarantee. 👍

I've been falling down a YouTube rabbit hole lately, and honestly, I'm really feeling the Dropkick Murphys. Time to keep digging... man, I am officially obsessed. 😁

This has always been my absolute favorite genre to listen to. Honestly, "What's Left of the Flag" is probably one of the best songs they've ever written. I was wondering, do they have any upcoming shows near Chicago, or have they ever toured through the States before?

If I recall correctly, Flogging Molly is actually touring North America right now. It's probably worth checking their official website just to be sure.

As far as I know, they haven't played in the US yet....

This thread’s pretty much dead, but I didn't want to start a whole new one... Anyone got any band recs with this kind of sound? Could be rock, doesn't have to be punk. Don't need the folk stuff though, I've already got plenty of The Dubliners... 🙂
I know Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, McKenna, The Pogues, The Porters, Siobhan, Tears for Fears, Amadan, Charm City Saints, Flatfoot 56, Orthodox Celts, The Irish Rovers, The Tossers, and The Mahones...

I got it! You wouldn't believe it, but Bligh Ma is playing right as I'm typing this... 😁
Honestly, I always just figured they were some kind of pirate music... 😁

Time to share my thoughts on this genre... Lately, this is all I listen to.😁When you have actual masters at work, the guitar and bagpipes absolutely shred. For me, these bands represent the gold standard of the genre:
-Dropkick Murphys
-The Pogues
-Punk rock bands
-Flogging Molly
-Flatfoot 56
-Blood or Whiskey
-The Killigans
The Dropkick Murphys are one of my all-time favorites (they even have a new album out👍). They blend almost every style I enjoy—Oi!, folk, punk rock, hard rock, rockabilly... anyway, it would be killer if they ever toured through our part of the States.

I honestly fell in love the second I heard that "American folk songs" compilation.
If you’re into punk rock and haven't checked this out yet, you're seriously missing out...

Poor old America—it’s a tragedy that nobody has even thought to bring the Dropkick Murphys here yet. 😢
