Dealing with Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma?

My husband and I have been trying for a baby, but we’re getting absolutely nowhere!
I went to my OB-GYN and, because I was spiraling a bit, I insisted on getting a swab. Now the results are back, and apparently, I’m positive for Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum. I am completely lost—does anyone actually know what this means?
Help me out here!

These two bacteria usually travel in pairs—and they can lead to infertility or even miscarriage. The real issue? They are virtually asymptomatic; they are so quiet that they basically "colonize" you before you even realize there's an issue. I fought them myself for quite a while—treatment is long, grueling, and incredibly stubborn. Often, they just hide—so don't waste time or money if you don't keep re-testing months after the results look clean. Also—this is vital—your partner *must* be treated too, followed by a semen analysis. In men, these things can hide in the prostate, which often makes their treatment process much longer.
Until you are absolutely certain everything is clear—stick to abstinence or condoms.

I went through the exact same thing, but everything is fine now.

My partner and I were also trying to conceive, and I ended up getting tested for no particular reason, only to find out I had Ureaplasma.
Thankfully, we were prescribed some pretty decent antibiotics—we took them for either ten days or maybe two weeks, I can't quite remember—and I also used some vaginal suppositories to help deal with the side effects from the meds.
The good news is that you can completely clear those bacteria out, so please try not to worry too much.

Did you happen to get tested for Chlamydia as well? My OB-GYN mentioned that could be a factor in fertility issues.[/QUOTE]
