I actually find Flight of the Conchords much more endearing in that senseβ€”seriously, go look them up online, they're totally worth it!

If you haven't seen it yet, just watch the whole movie. That's just the very end. In the song, he's actually describing....
Man, I don't want to spoil it. Just watch the movie...😈 and then this whole part becomes 1000x better once everything clicks together...

I just finished downloading the movieβ€”the soundtrack is absolutely killer, so I’m looking forward to sitting down and watching this... expecting some solid entertainment ;P

Cheers,

Lawrence Torres37 said:No, it isn't a tribute to Stairway to Heaven. It’s actually a tribute to the greatest song in the world they composed while battling Satan himself😈 but then they just kind of forgot about it, so they made a tribute to that instead... anyway, you can find the track on the movie soundtrack; it's called Beezleboss (The Final Showdown)πŸ˜‰
just watch the movie, it might make more sense to you😎

I guess both of you are right, but the guy you're correcting is probably closer to the mark. If you listen to the style, you can tell it's this weird mashup of Devil Went Down to Georgia and Stairway to Heaven. Plus, the version on the actual soundtrack wasn't really "in the middle of the road" like the tribute suggestsβ€”it was way different. And besides, that tribute predates PoD by quite a bit...
Listen to the ending of the live version: And they played the best song in the world (and she's buying a stairway to heaven)

Look, there’s a ton of info out there on this.
One thing is pretty clear: they actually had the script for the movie ready before they even recorded their first album.
Another thing? They spent way too many years filming itβ€”way longer than they really needed to.
But like Ryan Wood6 said, everything is interconnected...
At its core, the movie is just a mix of stand-up sketches, some wild new ideas, and a healthy dose of poking fun at religion and music in general.
Honestly? It’s a total masterpiece.

Listen up, you antichrist prick, Beelzeboss,
we’ve spotted the crack in your armor, our secret weapon
we’re tearing up the club and blowing your mind out of proportion
we’re taking you down for the sake of everyone else
you might have the power,
but we’ve got the master key
you play the devil,
but we are the D,
yeah, we are the D,
we are the D,
D we are,
...
😁

The second : film is honestly incredible, even if it's total trash 🀣

Man, this movie is just straight-up stupid. I don't know, Jack took the whole "crude humor" thing way too far this time... like, there isn't a single joke that actually lands. The plot? Nonexistent. And honestly, even the soundtrack was kind of a letdown.

Thank god I work at a video rental shop, otherwise I'd be out some cash for this garbage. πŸ₯³

The movie was clearly made for fans of Tenacious D, and as such, it didn't exactly land well with a general audience. One friend of mine absolutely loved it, while another thought it was just plain stupid. (Go ahead and guess which one is actually a fan.)

I find Tenacious D to be charming enough, but that's about the extent of my interest, so I think I'll hold off on watching the film for the time being. πŸ™‚

It’s a simple movieβ€”just mindless fun that lets you turn your brain off and enjoy the ride... pure escapism, really. And honestly? The moment I see Jack Black on screen, I’m already laughing.πŸ™‚

..hmm, I was actually pretty stoked when their first album dropped, but man, that movie was a massive letdown. Like, it’s just incredibly stupid... πŸ˜›

So, I finally sat down and watched the whole movie yesterday. Jack Black is charming, but the film itself was honestly pretty lackluster overall. 😒
(I think it's probably only worth catching that one scene with the devil and calling it a day)

It's really not worth it if you've already seen the tribute music video, where they actually made everything way more entertaining...

That scene where he eats the mushroom????
Just the beginning?
Man, the whole movie is a classic.
Jack Black is just naturally ridiculous, so if you were expecting anything more than that... what were you thinking?
It's like how Chris Hall47 says: just use your head and go for it...
On the flip side, I know a few people who actually started listening to Tenacious D because of this flick.

Dude! I've got a butt-print too...

Watched the movie. It was alright. It’s basically just a big joke anyway.
I can't get this stuck in my head:

"yes you are fucked
shit out of luck
Now I'm complete and my cock you will suck
" πŸ™‚ :burning:: 😬

Haven't listened to the full album yet, just a few tracks. πŸ™ˆ

That’s easily the best part of the movie. Right up there with the scene where Jack and Kayle are busking for Bach.
