Hey everyone. So, I’m currently wrestling with an Enka A1521-I router and trying to get some port forwarding sorted out. I’ve been playing this one game where I need to host my own server, and from what I understand, I have to open up specific ports so my buddy can actually jump into the session with me. But here’s where things get a bit messy. This particular router doesn't actually have a setting labeled "port forwarding"; instead, it uses terms like "port triggering" and "virtual servers." I figured, hey, "virtual servers" sounds like just another way of saying port forwarding, so I went ahead and opened those ports (16261, 16262, and 16263 for both TCP and UDP). The thing is, it’s just not working. Every single time I try to connect to the server, I get hit with a "failed connection to TCP download port 16262" error message. Now, I'm sitting here wondering if the issue lies with the ports themselves or if there's some other invisible hand throttling the connection. To make matters even more confusing, I ran a port checker program which insists that everything is wide open, but then I checked another site online that tells me they're totally closed. It feels like I'm getting conflicting reports from two different worlds! If anyone has experience with this specific Enka A1521-I model or knows how these ports behave, I would truly appreciate any insight you could offer. I'm honestly stumped on what might be going wrong. Even if we assume the ports are technically open, what else in the system could be acting as a roadblock to the connection?
