I decided to take up Muay Thai this year, and honestly, I was hooked from the very first strike. Since my shift at the local Starbucks wraps up for the season on Saturday, June 30th 🙂, I’ve decided it is finally time to invest in a heavy bag. To be perfectly honest, I don't know the first thing about them—all I know is that I definitely need one that hangs all the way to the floor. What kind should I be looking for? Are there specific things I ought to watch out for... maybe regarding the filling or the weight? 😕

I suppose this is the third "help me buy a bag" thread in the last month.
😬

Did they actually tell you there wouldn't be training over the summer?
I know a friend of mine had BJJ sessions running all through last summer.
They weren't official sanctioned classes, but they still happened.

As for the bag... I guess you should first consider where and how you plan to install it, then choose based on that. You have the freestanding ones (decent for an apartment, though I suspect hitting them might cause more damage to your place than actual training benefits) or the hanging ones.
You can find those freestanding models at Dick's Sporting Goods. They also carry hanging versions. You might want to check out sites like ProFightGear as well.

And you could always just ask your coach for their opinion.
🙂

I bought one too, but honestly? I’m way too hot to be dealing with this right now 😢

Heh...
It’s certainly something...
Dealing with 100-degree heat isn't easy.
But I suppose that's why we have the entire night ahead of us.

I think I might have to move all my summer activities to the late hours this year...
Especially the ones that actually require me to be active.
