Oh, please forgive me—perhaps this would be more appropriate in the food and drink section, but I felt this sub was a better fit since so many people here deal with chemotherapy or urinary issues. You won't mind, will you? Am I just being my usual hypochondriac self again?

I recently picked up some parsley seed tea, and the instructions say:
Pour one teaspoon of tea into 2 dl of cold water and let it boil for one minute... — wait... I mean... can't I just pour regular hot water over it? How on earth are you all preparing yours? And what does it even mean to "let it boil" if I'm starting with cold water? It’s such a logical paradox! Honestly, I find these types of tea instructions so frustrating—especially things like oak bark tea that requires a full fifteen minutes of simmering... it's all so unnecessarily complicated...

🙄You put the tea in the cold water first, then bring it up to a boil on the stove, and once it hits that point, you let it simmer for one more minute (while keeping a very close eye on it so it doesn't boil over, obviously).

Did it never occur to you—just a passing thought, perhaps—that certain compounds actually need time to extract themselves from the plant material? Otherwise, we might as well just chew on the weeds instead...

Well, yes, precisely why I was asking! Though, I must admit, I hadn't quite grasped that one needs to wait a full minute after the boiling process concludes... I really ought to stop browsing these forums so late at night; my brain simply refuses to cooperate. (Ugh! Damn!)

Please, I beg of you, someone just delete this embarrassing thread—I wouldn't want anyone to think I don't even know how to brew a simple cup of tea (which, let's be honest, might not be far from the truth...).
