I heard about this from a friend of mine—it probably goes by a few different names depending on who you ask. Basically, it’s just a free-for-all brawl without any set rules. Honestly, that sounds pretty awesome to me. Does anyone here actually have any experience with it?

I have absolutely zero experience in street fighting (thank God) and I certainly wouldn't want any.
Paaa, you see, the fundamental rule is simply to incapacitate your opponent—that is, the side actively opposing you—using whatever method you execute most effectively. For instance, an iron rebar, a Dragon-style strike with a baseball bat, using a boxer's glove or some other blunt object to crack a skull (preferably something characterized by high hardness, low plasticity, significant weight, and even greater compactness).
In a street fight, sheer mass is a helpful asset, but if you truly master the NDS technique, which has been perfected for ages in the Far East, you will be absolutely peerless.

So, listen up kids: street fighting is a terrible business. If some guy comes flying at you shouting, "What are you looking at?" your best bet is to deploy the NDS technique; if there is no way out, then resort to one of the aforementioned options.

[this post is garbage, isn't it?😁 ]

P.S. that friend of yours seems pretty intense; does she do street fighting or something?🤣 🤣 🙏 🙏

Wait, I didn't realize you could actually use equipment for this? That seems a little silly to me, honestly. Besides, it never really crossed my mind to enter any kind of competition; I was just looking at this as a way to blow off some steam and burn through a few calories, since it’s pretty intense.

And what exactly is "street fighting" in a recreational sense? If you translate it into plain American English, it’s just a street brawl. What do you think that actually looks like? There isn't some referee coming to break things up when one guy is pinned to the pavement; it's more like a chaotic mess until someone finally settles the score on the sidewalk.

As for you, I can't imagine you participating in anything "recreational"...

So, what would be your preference? A full-on scrap, or something more technical like grappling or throwing moves?

To be fair, there is a thread right under the Kimbo post discussing street fighting. I might have gone a bit overboard regarding the use of blunt objects and such, but in a raw, backyard brawl, all bets are off—it isn't exactly a sanctioned sporting event, after all.

Well, why don't you just sign up for an MMA bout then?

That's about as close as you'll get to a street fight, except there are actual rules and you won't end up losing your head...

If I recall correctly, there's an MMA gym right over in Chicago...

I have to admit, I laughed at first when I saw the street fighting training, but then I remembered http://www.streetfightingcroatia.com/
It’s not exactly "street fighting" in the literal sense, but I suppose it gets the point across. Heh.
And no, I don't really have any experience with this sort of thing...

Why not? You could easily set up different weight classes or categories.
For instance, a street fight in the White House category would be strictly light contact—no headshots, just hands. A Brooklyn style match might throw in knives, bottles, or even handguns, though it stays one-on-one. Then you've got the higher tier, maybe something like Bronx Streets, where once you win your duel, eight guys jump out of nowhere to beat you down and kill the God inside you. The absolute top tier would be Knežija, where there aren't even actual fights; instead, the loser's name just suddenly pops up in an obituary one morning.

The closest thing to a street fight is UFC, but man, that's miles away from how brutal an actual street fight is. God, I really hope they don't start hosting official street fighting competitions.
