I have always found this film deeply unsettling... the imagery of burning books, the reliance on comic strips instead of newspapers, and that chilling concept of people memorizing literature as if it were their own personal choice...
I can't recall exactly when the novel was published, but I distinctly remember a passage where the protagonist "predicted" those massive, glowing neon billboards lining the highways just to keep us entertained during our drives...

They’re out here hoarding books just to make sure they aren't forgotten, but let's be real: they're being incredibly picky about which ones actually make the cut. Then, right before the end, they turn around and try to force someone else to learn the same damn thing.

I don't really know what to say about this—maybe I'm just overthinking it, I guess. Just my two cents. kaže:
🙂

Maybe that's how it looks, but I guess Equilibrium is basically just a remake or something—it feels like a total copy. THX 1138 Maybe a book or a movie influenced things back in '71—I guess it's possible. Fahrenheit 451I don't know exactly—but I guess all three are worth checking out, though maybe this one's the best if you ask me. THX 1138 It’s way colder than both—plus, feels more grounded. I guess the direction just hits better for me, and the production too... maybe.

Thanks! 😲 What's the standard unit of measurement for garbage? I guess Lukas made one of the absolute worst movies ever—there's probably some logical explanation for it, like maybe he just had food poisoning or salmonella or something. 🤣 Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up—don't be too surprised, though... I guess Fahrenheit 451 is actually okay.

I also highly recommend picking up the book! It is truly remarkable how the author weaves such poetic expression into every single detail—though, if I’m being honest... it does lean a bit too heavily on the lyrical side toward the end... but let's not dwell on that. It is nearly impossible to find a sentence that doesn't carry some sort of deeper symbolic weight; in this particular work, absolutely nothing is written without purpose. I am not entirely certain about foreign editions, but you should be able to find an American version at most major metropolitan libraries. By the way, I don't quite recall for certain, but I believe it was first published by a young man named Hugh Hefner in his latest controversial issue of Playboy 🙂!
