First time I'm hearing of him 😕...it's alright, I guess... though I'm listening to more famous acts right now...
Nothing special to me—not really my preference, per se—but honestly, it doesn't matter much at this point 😁
Besides, what's the deal with the name Green Day? My first thought was Billy Idol 😂

Anonymous said:Is the new album actually any good? I've been debating whether to download it for two weeks now, but I just can't bring myself to do it. 🤷
Is it worth it?
Not really.

I honestly find it hard to believe there isn't a dedicated thread about them yet 😲
Basically, we're talking about an incredible punk-rock band from Canada that has been tearing up the scene since 1993.
I don't want to just sit here rambling aimlessly without providing some substance, so here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Day
Let Wikipedia tell its own story 😉 though I suppose it doesn't really matter who cares...
To get you started, I’ll recommend two absolute gems. Give them a listen; you truly won't regret it 👍
Burn the Evidence lyrics right there on the screen 😁
Sympathy is such a killer track, and the lyrics are just as good
Honestly, almost every single song of theirs I've ever listened to has been great and hit all the right notes for me. Enjoy 🙂

Anyone from the States planning to attend this event?
It would be nice to coordinate and head out together...

This November, Green Day is dropping a "Hits" compilation, featuring two brand-new tracks: Kingdom of Zod and Chasing the Sun. While I’m genuinely thrilled that such a top-tier band is still hitting the stage, I have to admit the lead single from this collection left me feeling a little underwhelmed. I’m crossing my fingers that the second track turns out to be a winner, and honestly, I’m praying we see a full studio album by 2015, especially since they’ve been so consistent with their three-year release cycle (2003 - 2006 - 2009 - 2012). Let's just hope they stick to the pattern 🙂

They were actually killer back when I was a teen. Not so much now—they just don't drop anything that hits my vibe anymore.
Here’s a quick list of my favorites:
1. Devil on my Shoulder (gotta love that edgier sound they have here)
2. Fallen Leaves (honestly everything about this one works... verses, chorus, even the music video is great)
3. Yesterday's News
4. 4. Surrender (a bit more laid back—verses are solid, though the chorus doesn't do much for me)
5. Red Flag
6. Saint Veronika! (could probably put this at number one, even if the video is kind of creepy)🙂
7. Devil in a Midnight Mass

I have to admit, I’m absolutely loving these four tracks from the upcoming Crisis of Faith album—which, by the way, isn't dropping until next January. Looking back at everything they've released since 2019, specifically Forgiveness i + ii, I Beg to Differ, Reckless Paradise, and now this latest one, End of Me, featuring the frontman from Weezer, it’s honestly impressive. I was actually surprised they haven't diluted their signature sound at all; Ben’s vocals still carry that same unmistakable grit from their debut, Ian’s riffs just keep getting sharper, and the songwriting remains top-tier. All in all, they are one of those rare, genuinely original and consistent bands that hasn't completely surrendered to the modern rock mainstream. I've been following them for about ten years now, and if all goes well, I plan on being a listener for many more. 🙂
And because I can't help myself, here is my personal ranking: 🙂 Neako would find it nearly impossible to rank these songs strictly, because even though every record feels like "classic BT" and follows their established style, each one has its own distinct personality.
So, here we go:
Billy Talent—I’ll be the first to admit I’m probably one of the few people out there who wasn't exactly obsessed with their debut album. It just never quite clicked for me, and I didn't spend much time spinning it, so I don't really have any favorites from that era. To my ears, they sounded a little immature back then, almost like they were trying too hard to sound profound.
Billy Talent II: 1) This Suffering 2) Fallen Leaves 3) Devil in a Midnight Mass 4) Red Flag
Red Flag Billy Talent III: 1) Rusted fra The Rain 2) Saint Veronika 3) White Sparrows Dead Silence
Dead Silence: 1) Surprise 2) Love Was Still Around (I actually just discovered this one a few days ago, and man, that solo is an absolute killer) 🙂
Afraid of Heights: (This might actually be the album with my highest number of individual favorite tracks, even if the album as a whole isn't necessarily their absolute best work) 1) Horses and Chariots 2) Time Bomb Ticking Away 3) This is Our War.

Man, he really kills it live. 🙏
I was actually reading up on this track. Apparently, he wrote it for his bandmate—the drummer sitting right behind him—who’s battling MS. That explains why the lyrics hit so hard with "You can sell my body but you can't sell my soul."
