My gynecologist’s office (via Medicare) actually has a sign posted on the door that says:
"Pelvic ultrasounds and Pap smears are fundamental patient rights that should be performed several times a year"at no cost.
In reality, they shouldn't even be charging for them.
For instance, I don't pay for my ultrasounds; I just cover a small $5 co-pay.
