By the way, I also make amateur films.
Star Wars
A little parody of Star Wars
Deflated Candle Teasare Parodj
Just some sci-fi comedy stuff we're working on. This is basically just a teaser to give you an idea of what the final product might look like...
Space and Slavonian Ship
A short experimental piece about finding a ship lost in deep space...

Anyway, you can check out link to see some of my other short clips and 3D animations too.

The mods really should open up a subforum for indie filmmakers and amateur projects. It would be cool if we could help each other out. Like, if someone needs an actor, a camera, a location, or just a solid idea... we could all connect here...

I'm with you on that. My friends and I are working on some short films right now and we're actually looking for a male actor—if anyone's interested, hit me up.

It would be a fantastic idea if we all teamed up. Everyone could contribute their own unique touch, and I promise we’d end up with an incredible indie film.

Total genius. Honestly, I'm way too far away to actually help out, but you guys have my full moral support!!!! 👍

Laura Chase7 said:So, what’s the deal with that short film? What is it actually about?

Don't even get me started. We ended up making this film about teenage struggles... It's structured around four different stories, tied together by a single opening and closing segment that frames the whole thing.

First story: Lik walks into class to take an exam. The professor is sitting there waiting for him, and the guy is absolutely paralyzed with fear... To be continued...

Some guy is out there playing basketball in the pouring rain on a hoop that doesn't even have a rim. After a few missed shots, he just chucks the ball toward the basket and walks away...

Some guy is sitting right by the front entrance of a building, smoking and drinking. We ended up using "Zarathustra" from Odyssey 2000 to handle the situation.😬 It’s happening again. There’s that guy, the one who keeps swinging that basketball around like a maniac, and now he’s just slamming a water bottle against the wall. His hands are covered in blood, yet he’s just walking away like nothing happened. It’s honestly bizarre.

Part 1: You know that type—the guy sitting in class, sweating bullets during an exam while the professor just stares him down with that intense, unblinking gaze...
So, there I was in the school WC... just a total dump. And to make matters worse, I’m standing there trying to tear pages out of a book. To top it all off, we actually found a worm sitting in the sink that someone had apparently spat out. Just one of those days, I guess.😬 ...

5🙂Library.Lik is sitting there, lost in a book, when this girl walks in—someone he’s been pretty captivated by for a while now. He decides to step up and help her find something to read, and just as he's building up the nerve to actually tell her how he feels, her boyfriend walks through the door. (And that's where I come in.)😬 In all my other stories, I was just the cameraman, and she’s the one being led away... Then this guy finally snaps and slams his head against the table.

1🙂Right. The guy stands up and gives the defeated professor a long, steady look. (We messed up a bit here—in one shot he’s wearing a jacket, then suddenly he isn't.) He takes off running and leaps straight through the window...

We managed to shoot the entire film in just three hours...

So, I actually started another thread a little while back about an amateur film project I'm putting together—basically looking for some folks who might want to help bring this vision to life. If there are any kindred spirits out there in the Washington, D.C. area or just anywhere nearby who are feeling inspired, please reach out! My main focus is on directing, but honestly, if you're an actor, a cinematographer, a screenwriter... or even if you just have a knack for something specific, let me know! You can hit me up via email at: rokenroler@walla.com

Hey there! So, look, Dalibor Matanić has his own dedicated thread going on here, but I honestly feel like I’m a much more talented creator than he is, which leads me to believe it would be only fair if I were granted my very own topic too! You can actually check out "my" work at the following link:

http://www.youtube.com/user/Quazyfied

Also, we do group events, you know, like throwing birthday parties for ladies between the ages of 17 and 23—not just any time, mind you, but specifically around 10 PM—and we serve plenty of pizza, provided there are enough women around.

P.S. I am preemptively asking my great creative friend (and by greatness, I am referring strictly to the size of his anatomy), northerncrane4, to do me a massive favor and let this thread stay active, because I am dying to hear what American cinephiles think about some truly GREAT American films.

Thanks everyone!

Look, I’ll leave it be, but honestly—it would be far more productive if you merged this with one of the existing threads on indie filmmaking. But hey, it's your call.

BTW, where does Dada Matanić (Mat😕) even have a thread here? Maybe over at the chicken coop.

Hopefully I’m posting this in the right spot. If not, mods, please don't come for me—I appreciate the understanding.

I'm looking to hire a videographer for a project. The non-negotiables are professionalism, high-end gear, and solid editing skills. Basically, I need someone who can handle the whole production from start to finish.

If you have any leads or recommendations, shoot me a DM...

Thanks!

Hey there, friends!

I just finished filming a brand new movie, everyone! Now, look, I’ll be the first to admit it probably won't hit the cinematic heights of something like "The Law!" or "Over 35," but hey, I am putting in the work and giving it my all! I love you guys so much, sending big hugs!

So, I’ve been sitting here mulling over a few different concepts for a movie, but honestly, they all feel pretty massive and complicated to pull off. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that if anyone happens to have a solid idea for a film—any genre, really, as long as it’s actually engaging and doesn't lean into horror territory—maybe just let me know. I was thinking maybe someone might have an idea involving teenagers, like a coming-of-age type of thing, or perhaps something high-octane like an action flick about detectives chasing down some criminal through the streets. If anything comes to mind, feel free to reach out. Best...

Hey 🙂
I’m probably filming a short film in NYC this summer—just a little drama piece... assuming I can actually get my cast together. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone knows what kind of permit you need to shoot on the subway? I reached out to the MTA and they told me I have to send over an official letter with a stamp and signature... does anyone have any clue what that actually entails?
Thanks =)

okay..quick question..I've always been into theater, so..how do you guys actually pull the funding together??😕😕

...well, I finally tracked her down. I've put together a rough outline for the script.

Now comes the hard part: I need some help. Since this is strictly a no-budget production, my plan is to borrow equipment from a local film institute (which is looking like a pretty safe bet)... That should take care of one major hurdle.

Anyway, I’m looking for any motivated young people who might be interested in helping out on an indie set. If you're up for it, shoot me a PM.

To be honest, if you're interested, I can give you the rundown on the plot, the shooting schedule, and all that. As for open roles? There’s plenty to do. While directing, cinematography, and editing are already accounted for, everything else is wide open... We still need to finalize locations, too—some aren't quite hitting the mark yet. In fact, if anyone has an apartment they'd be willing to feature in a scene, let me know. 🤣

Thanks in advance to everyone...

Well, I finally realize they merged two different threads and accidentally turned me into a co-author... xD The offer still stands!

A SHORT amateur film.
