😕 Please, if anyone happens to have any insight into what might be happening to me, I would truly appreciate it. Over the last year, I have been waking up with sudden swelling. Sometimes it’s around my lips, other times it’s under my eyes—looking much more severe than just standard tired bags—and for the past two days, it has even manifested on both sides of my neck, between my jawline and my collarbone. I have gone through every diagnostic test imaginable: my IgE levels are normal, my kidney function is perfect, my thyroid is as healthy as a teenager's, my liver is performing flawlessly, and while I am technically an allergy sufferer, they can't pinpoint the trigger. My blood work couldn't be better, and I've tested negative for parasites. CLEARLY, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH ME!!!! Please, if anyone can offer some guidance, UNKNOWN_ENTITY!!!!

Honestly, if this is happening overnight, I'd start looking at what you're sleeping on. I once had a crazy reaction to makeup remover wipes late at night.

I have tried everything from swapping out my linens to replacing my mattress and pillows entirely—I even attempted changing where I sleep within the room—but nothing seems to make a difference. There isn't any discernible pattern or schedule to when this happens, either. Regardless, I appreciate the suggestion.

Oh, I deal with those little bumps quite often too, so please don't worry about it... 😳
Most of the time, my upper lip starts swelling up overnight (honestly, I actually kind of dig that 😁 look), along with my eyes and the whole area around them—you know, those super puffy eyes—and my fingers tend to swell up really frequently as well.

But it feels like my sleep patterns are actually pretty normal 😉
Maybe there's some sort of connection to water retention in my body, though maybe I'm just overthinking things and talking nonsense... 😁

Check your fabric softener and laundry detergent. I personally know girls who ended up vomiting because of Lenore.
Try to connect the dots between what you're doing and what you're consuming right when the symptoms flare up. It could be tied to your cycle; the body tends to hold onto extra fluid right before your period starts. Are you on any kind of birth control? That can cause it too.

To be honest, I wasn't paying much attention myself until I noticed it on my neck. Now, it looks like I have two lumps on either side, right between my collarbone and my neck, and it really isn't a great look at all.

Unknown, that doesn't sound right. You should probably head to the doctor and get a referral for an ultrasound. Have you had your thyroid checked out yet?

Try to differentiate between what you are doing and what you are consuming at the exact moment the symptoms arise. It could very well be linked to your menstrual cycle; the body tends to retain excess fluid right before a period starts. Are you perhaps on any kind of oral contraceptives? That can cause this as well.

I am, actually. I have a known allergy to silane, which is why I avoid it entirely. I have carefully considered every single factor you mentioned, and nothing seems to correlate, which is precisely why I am posting on this forum—to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar. For a while, I suspected it might be related to a deep cleaning of my house, so I organized a massive cleaning session, but that didn't change anything. This is driving me absolutely insane.

On Friday, I had an appointment at Inter Allergy, and they went through my entire medical history from top to bottom. They ended up writing me a referral that spans all the way from Little Rock to Washington, D.C.—it’s practically an entire cross-country trip—just to send me back for the exact same battery of tests. It is quite obvious the results will be identical to what I already have.

They handed me a stack of paperwork long enough to drive from Little Rock to Washington, D.C., and now I’m being sent back for a whole new round of tests—even though we all know the results aren't going to change a thing.

Did they actually run an ultrasound? Look, swollen lymph nodes can stem from a million different things, but when they're that enlarged, you can't just ignore it. How long has that swelling been hanging around?

It isn't actually swollen lymph nodes, but rather just some tissue irritation located further down toward the collarbone. This has been persisting for four days now; sometimes these things subside by the second day, while other times they can linger for five or six. I wonder how much longer this will last

They didn't perform an ultrasound, even though there is a rather soft swelling present

At times, it can look as though I am wearing a necklace, or more accurately, like there is a tire wrapped around my neck, though positioned much further down.

Double-check that shield again. They can be quite temperamental—sometimes they just don't behave right.

Can you actually link a reaction back to something specific you ate?
It might not be a direct allergy, but certain foods can definitely act as triggers if you're already dealing with an underlying sensitivity elsewhere.
For instance,
things like walnuts, chocolate, spinach, tomatoes, deli meats, seafood, or even citrus fruits...

If you had any of those the day before, you might wake up with sudden swelling overnight.
In particular, when it comes to swollen lips, that’s almost always tied to something in your diet.

Honestly, I’d bet money it’s just an allergy... based on what you described, it sounds exactly like my boss... he starts babbling nonsense whenever his stress levels spike, to the point where he can barely even keep his eyes open.. his whole eye swells shut... then his cheeks puff up and turn this weird shade of red... it usually lingers for a few days before clearing up...
