Dealing with a granuloma – any advice?

Well, I’ve ended up with a cavity on one of my molars. My dentist is currently treating it, but in about three weeks, I have to go in for a root canal. I have never had a root canal before, and frankly, the whole idea sounds quite daunting. Does it actually hurt much, and is the entire procedure performed under local anesthesia?🙂

You just get an injection and honestly, it’s really not that big of a deal.

Do you happen to know how to treat this? What is he supposed to do for those three weeks before the root canal?

Oops, I am actually not quite sure what the specific treatment plan is. All I know is that my doctor prescribed a medication I need to use for two weeks, followed by a different application for one week before it is finally removed.

My dentist performed a root canal on me about two months ago. The process involved placing a specific material into the tooth, followed by another application during my next visit. After that, I had several follow-up appointments where they used specialized files to clear out the canals. My assumption is that the initial substance is designed to gradually neutralize the nerve, which then allows them to remove the debris with those tools. It wasn't painful at all; there isn't much to feel once the nerve has been effectively neutralized.
